I've now had three classes with David, and I love him. He is funny, but also a great teacher. While his wisdom and sarcasm can, as someone previously stated, make him seem somewhat unapproachable, if you go to him for help he is friendly, usually quite helpful, and always willing to chat. Take his class if you can.

David is a funny, likeable guy but not very approachable if you need help with work or papers. Not that he's mean or anything, but his sarcasm makes it a little intimidating to ask for help. But, of course, if you're an independent student then you'll do fine and probably have fun. Although Tudor-Stuart England got pretty boring by the end...

We had some wonderful discussions and it was truly a pleasure to be in his class. The reading was a little hefty and sometimes very dry, but thats sort of par for the course with history classes.

Hist of the Holocaust i didn't feel as though i ever got much out of disucssions. we read very good books, but never went too deep into them. unclear as to what he expected in papers. he constantly said we would do things but we never did - watch certain movies, discuss certain parts of books . .

Great class, funny guy, helpful in and out of class. I would recommend any class he teaches! I can't imagine him being as mean as the first person said - he's nice and understanding and (you have to ask) but WILL help you or give you an extension.
