One of the best teachers that I have ever had. He is humble despite his profound brilliance and has a compassion for students that extends beyond the classroom.

Awesome teacher! The kind of man you think "now this is a real proffesor", unlike one teacher of mine. Tons of class discussion, makes our 3 hour class interesting. a brilliant thinker, well-read, knows at least parts of several languages.

Best lecturer at Baylor. Classes are all lecture all the time - no class discussion. Most brilliant prof in the dept. Can get overwhelming at times though and can be harsh in grading. I learned a great deal from him and he changed some of views 180. If you don't like lecture avoid.

He knows so much about so much, from language and literature to theology, philosophy, and popular culture. Ask him questions about anything and recieve a brilliant answer. Even though he is a heady intellectual, he is friendly toward his students. You must take him if you get the chance!

Probably the most polyvalent teacher I've ever had--he's an expert in raising cattle and 60s music as well as Biblical exegesis and philology. Lectures are amazing, though prone to lapses into French, German, and Latin.
