Professor Kehoe does his best to make dry lectures interesting. He uses many demonstrations in class to help students better understand the material. Take advantage of his office hours! He can explain things in a different way if you didn't understand them during his in class lectures. Overall, a great professor!

Yes its very hard, dry, and will take up more time than u thought. Heres how to get an A: annotate Info sheet and lecture notes, reread multiple times, watch YouTube videos, go to Office hrs if confused. Ask him to evaluate ur exams, use these tips and his feedback and youll spend only 2-3 hours on this class max. He is very helpful and open.

Pretty difficult class and Kehoe expects a lot, but he is outstanding. He is the most accomplished professor I've met, really knows the subject, and is always available to meet if you need help. Lectures can be pretty dry but he does his best to make them interesting and you'll end up learning a lot.

To be honest, I dreaded this class daily. Your morality and enthusiasm will decrease after each exam. Very hard to study for the essay based exams, he tends to give a 30 page practice test four days before exam. Yet, Dr. Kehoe is brilliant, kind, and easy to talk to and willing to work with students. Trade offs, I wouldn't take this again.

Super nice guy, funny, and very caring. Class is hard but if you study right youll be good. Hes always willing to help and knows if youre having trouble. Always open to questions and the class is very informative. His demos are worth living for and so are his cocktail party examples. If you want to learn, hes the man.

Professor Kehoe is one of the best professors at IU-- hands down. He is a gifted lecturer and cares deeply about the material, his students, and his AIs. Although his tests are all free response, it is still ver doable if you put in the effort. I wish I hadn't taken him in the summer, so I could have spent more time with him in a regular semester

Super boring class, Dr. Kehoe tries to make it as interesting as possible with fun demos and the like, still boring though. Gives you a lot of practice questions which cover every single thing you need to know for the exam. This class just requires six hours of studying before the exam for an A. He has a lot of quizzes which are kinda annoying.

Dr. Kehoe inspired me to join a lab. Great teacher and great class! I would heavily recommend him. It is clear what will be on the tests. Don't expect to skate by in this class though. The tests are open-ended, so you can really show you know the concepts. If you don't though, it will be quite obvious.

Awesome teacher and awesome class. The content can be challenging, but Kehoe is very interactive and passionate about the info and teaching it to you. He is always willing to help outside of class, and as long as you keep up and study hard this will be a great class for you.

Kehoe is a really great professor. This class is not the easy route but I took away so much more than I would with any another class. Exams are easy if you keep up with the material and worksheets are straight forward. Only advice I would give is to study for the TopHat quizzes, they're a big chunk of your grade

Kehoe's class is challenging, but your hard work will pay off on the exams! There are random 'info bomb' quizzes during lecture that you have to study for, but they are easy points for the most part. Kehoe cares a lot about his students and does a lot to help you learn the material. Definitely take molecular with him!

He is a nice guy, but that's about it. By far the biggest complaint I have are the tests. Free-response is tricky because you can explain the answer in a different, but correct, way and still get points taken because you didn't throw in words he used in lecture. The UTAs don't know how to grade at all, so be prepared to prepare a regrade.

Kehoe is very very smart, you will learn so much and his class is awesome but it is very hard. You need to show up to lecture and be prepared to do a lot of outside work. The tests are very hard, but manageable. It is a lot of applying what you learned instead of just memorizing. I would take it again, I learned so much but it wasnt easy.

You can have a solid understanding of the material and still do poorly because you can't tell what he looks for in an exam answer. It's super misleading. Also, the undergrads grade the tests and make so many mistakes. Then it takes another hour or so to prepare your test for a regrade. I learn nothing in discussion. Harder than it needs to be.

This class should be at a 200 level but he makes it harder than organic chemistry for no reason at all. He refuses to curve tests or the class because he has taught it for so long and thinks he's the best professor in the world. If you take Kehoe, you won't get an A.

He's a nice guy and he teaches well, but his tests are 100% free response, the grading is extremely unclear, the UTAs made tons of grading mistakes, and questions are weighted to where if you miss one question you won't get an A. He makes what should be an easy class, SO hard. Do NOT take him, it's not worth it. His rating on here is complete crap.

He is very smart in this field. However, he has a hard time breaking down topics into easier material but nice. He is incredibly smart and is passionate about what he teaches but a lot of the times he speaks about stuff way over our head for a 200 level course. His tests are 8 questions free response and if you do not know it then your are skrewed!

Great professor. Very knowledgeable about molecular biology and is generally an enjoyable and funny lecturer. Also very understanding and conscious, when it comes to maximizing student success. Wants all of his students to succeed. Tests are all free response and are generally hard, but that's a given; Molecular is a tough class. Take him.

I took him in 2011 for molecular bio. He did not require a book. He expects students to study from lecture notes. So coming to class is a must!! His exam questions were mixed; some were straight forward written answers while others required specific explanation. by specifics i mean that he wanted you to use certain words that he used in lecture

Professor Kehoe structures his class really well, but can run it like a tyrant at times. You will learn a lot, but his way of interacting with students is a bit awkward and he comes across as very insecure. He attempts to mask these insecurities by being somewhat harsh and authoritarian. Grading is done by undergraduates and is often wrong.
