Comment:
Davids passion and experience are prolific in his teaching. He also genuinely cares about his students. You will never catch me saying this again but I think his classes could actually benefit from more assignments as they are few and if you mess up one itll be tough to raise your grade. Super chill guy, dont pay attention to the other reviews.

Kozak teaches students to ask questions. He is motivated by anthropology and its potential to open students minds to the complexity of life and to think critically and independently. Kozak has helped me get through school without feeling like every day is another lecture of what we are "supposed" to be taught.

Comment:
Dr. Kozak is a little bit disorganized but very passionate about the material he's teaching. He gives a lot of real life application to anthropology instead of a load of anthropological theory/BS. Dr. Kozak Has a lot of experience working in anthropology, and he's very open to student contribution to the discussion.

David is a teacher that really tries to expand your mind. He doesn't try to make you think the way he does, he just wants you to continue with your own train of thought. I would highly recommend taking his class if you are at all interested in the cultural aspect of anthropology.

Definitely a soap box prof. but teaches to look outside the box. He's not much interested in subjects he doesn't know much about and doesn't seem interested in learning about them. (it's easier to tell others what to do than doing them yourself). He's pretty radical in his thinking, which i like. scatter-brained. i think he needs a break.

This guy is the biggest dumbass I have ever had at ft lewis. I feel sorry for any anthropology students that have to take him for any of his classes. Worst professor ever

If you hate when professors get on their soap box and talk because they like to hear the sound of their own voices then this is the class for you.

I think that David is really good at keeping his students interested in his classes and I like that he tests on what you have taken from the readings and lecture rather than pointless crap that you wont remember by next semester.

I am a very smart person but I never have any idea what Kozak is talking about. He is mean and allows himself and others to openly bash, not critique, bash your work. Makes us study tobacco a subject that no other Anthropologists study, so why should we

Thought provoking. Challenges your beliefs and values, but is somewhat doctrinaire in his own. Very effective in teaching how to improve one's scholarly writing. Socratic lecture style. A really good teacher. Needs to lighten up a little for his own sake
