Comment:
I took one of Dr. Dare's Poli Sci classes a couple of decades ago when Reagan was president, and am now an attorney. I can honestly say he, more than any professor, was instrumental in my career choice. He was absolutely brilliant, and his take on the world and its political undercurrents made a huge impact on me personally.

Dr. Dare was an amazing teacher. I am now a college professor and can attest to how hard it is to be a popular teacher who at the same time makes people work for a B. I received a C in U.S. Foreign Policy over 10 years ago, but I still think about what I learned in that class all the time. Dr. Doom rocks!

I had Prof Dare for Comparative Politics as one of my first classes at the Fort. I have never forgotten how he challenged students to think about the world with an open but critical mind. He is an amazing teacher. I just saw he is retiring which is a real loss for the future students at FLC.

Brilliant and engaging, he is the only professor for whom there was an urge to rise and applaud. By the end of each lecture the chalkboard was a Jackson Pollock, his shirt was white with dust, and our minds were spinning with an integration of PS theoretical frameworks and immediately relevant geopolitical situations. Thanks Dr. Dare!

Had Dr. Dare in mid '90's. Loved his class but it was after college that I got the most out of it. His lectures are great but his loose written exams revolve around the reading so be sure to keep up.

I had Byron twice in the late 80s--Intro to PS and Shaping of the Modern Mind--and he also supervised my honors thesis. I would rank him as one of my three hardest, most challenging, and favorite professors from my time at the Fort. He taught me to look at the world and understand politics in a whole new but much more realistic way.
