Comment:

Easily the best teacher I've ever had. He's incredibly knowledgeable and leads fun discussions. He's an easy grader but his enthusiasm ad humor will make you work hard and want to participate, so you learn loads with little stress and lasting interest in the subject. Absolutely take his class if possible, I can't say a single bad thing about him!

WOW! Deserves every ounce of praise he's gotten. See for yourself. Take Great Poems. He's the man in the poetry world.It feels great to have such a commendable man teach you. He's a great guy and the best of teachers. I can't say enough good things.

Everything everyone else has said is completely true. He is an amazing prof--patient, understanding, and never underestimates you. He is an accomplished poet & editor as well, and introduces you not to just new works by old standbys (Dickinson, Donne, etc.) but also many new poets (many of whom he knows personally). Great opportunities, great class

The best class I have ever taken. Prof. Lehman is approachable, funny, down to earth, and brilliant. I laughed when I read earlier reviews, thinking that they were too positive to be serious, but he's the real deal. I was sick for one of our classes, and I'm STILL mad at myself for missing it. Take his class, no matter what it takes to get into it.

Comment:

He only teaches one class a year, a poetry seminar. Two and a half hours a week of poetry discussion. Sound tough? It's not. He'll make it genuinely fun. Whether you like to write and want to further cultivate skills, just enjoy poetry analysis, or want a different class to round out your workload, take this. He is absolutely incredible, his poetry is amazing. I wouldn't skip his class if it was Armageddon. Do whatever you can to get into this class, it's worth it.

!!! Sell your soul if it's the only way you can get into Lehman's course. Approachable, friendly, outgoing, funny, and above all else brilliant. Some found him intimidating; we didn't.
