Doesn't encourage enough discussion or analysis, and the class was not engaging. If your papers are essentially plot summary you'll get an easy A.

He talks a lot with out leaving room for class discussion so you basically sit there and listen to him drone on. However, he is very flexible if you are sick or have a health problem and will make sure you get your work and will allow for you to have extra time if needed.

Honestly one of the worst teachers I've ever had. He has done absolutely nothing but plot summary and seems to believe that all of his students are idiots. But it's no wonder that noone seems to say anything intelligent - he doesn't give anyone the chance. I'm writing this while sitting in his class. I want to cry. Most pointless class ever.

He only focused on plot based summary and analysis. Lots of busy work when it comes to take home exams. Very dry lectures.

Dr. Leigh is one of the worst professors I've ever had at SU, certainly the worst within the English department. He's old as dirt and not in an endearing way. About 80% of this class was him going off on tangents for about ten minutes, until he seemed to forget where he was and start over again. I'm not sure he knows how to use email.

I had Fr. Leigh for Honors, and frankly it was very disappointing. His class was mostly all plot based summary, and he rarely allowed us to get into any sort of real discussion. I was really excited for the classes, and it was just disappointing. He does seem to be an easy grader, but it isnt worth it for what I got out of the class.

most/all plot summary. do the reading and take notes--he checks! bring something to do during lectures as all he does is tell the class what happened in the book we just read.

Had him for Core Honors Writing. He's a nice man, but class is pretty boring. 4-5 page paper due every other week. Class was centered around greek literature. Reading assigned before class and then class is centered around discussing the material. Improved my writing, but only because we had to write a lot.

I was so excited for this class but it was honestly so disappointing that now I'm thinking about changing my major. Focused almost completely on poetry even though there's obviously a lot of other types of literature he could have taught us about. I didn't understand how he graded at all and overall he made the material so boring that I didn't care

He is a nice man. However, the class is very dry. He focuses too much on plot summary and not enough on how the plot pertains to today.

The busy work is not as much as people make it seem, but you will read boring Greek literature. And class discussions are not stimulating, probably because Fr. Leigh just talks for days. FOR DAYS. Not even about anything specific. This was supposed to be a writing class, but I didn't learn anything about how to write. Trust me, not worth your time.

Father Leigh is absolutely brilliant, best professor I've had in the english department at SU. I've taken two of his classes and I appreciate his organization. If there's a major assignment he'll give you the rubric for it weeks in advance and he makes his expectations clear and concise. Lectures are can be redundant but they're helpful for quizzes

Core Honors English. What a complete waste of time. This class made me hate writing. The weekly papers were on stupid topics, and our final paper was on The Aeneid. Writing is painful for me now. I blame this class. It's especially annoying because I already had English credit coming in. Lord have mercy on my soul. Dude is overdue for retirement.

This class sucked. I had him for Core Honors English. Everything we did was pointless, tedious, and extremely boring. Outlines, weekly essays, boring topics, and cryptic assignments defined the quarter. I spent so much time on this class doing a bunch of random, stupid, and useless stuff. I do not recommend, especially if you're a science major.

I had him for Core Honors. Worst class ever, no joke. There were papers every week, boring lectures, and pointless assignments. He's a nice enough guy, but it was extremely hard to stay awake/ be attentive during class. Everything was busy work. we had to outline every single essay we read over the quarter just for kicks. I do not recommend.

I had him for core honors. He is a dopey old man, nice enough but very boring. Everything we go over, and every essay we write (one each week) is completely pointless and just a lot of busy work. The class literally takes hours. There is a LOT of reading, outlining, and everyone in my class feels that we're learning stupid, pointless things.

I had him for Core Honors. He's a really nice man, but kind of monotone, and sometimes I wasn't really sure where his lectures are going (usually, not as deep as I thought they would). Extremely helpful if you e-mail him or talk to him outside of class--take advantage of this!!! Valued organization and straight answers more than ideas.

Father Leigh was nice as an old man, but his lectures were entirely pointless. The papers we wrote were even worse. I felt like I wasted my time in this class because I already had credit coming in. So not only did this harm my GPA, but wasted my time by writing two essays a week basically on topics that could have been interesting, but weren't.

I had Father Leigh for my core honors College Writing 110 class. He implemented interesting discussions during class time, and had us write papers on interesting and applicable topics, but as soon as he started lecturing, it was hard to stay focused, or awake.
