Dont judge from the first day! I thought he would be the worst and he ended up being my favorite professor! He is very clear about what is expected and follows the syllabus closely. The workload is very manageable and as long as you have a general understanding of the literature and watch the smart history videos this class will be a breeze!

He explains art and music very well, often lecturing on such topics, then giving reading assignments for the literature, followed by a quiz over the reading for the next class period. There are opportunities to make up for missing class once a week.

Enjoyed his lectures. He breaks students up into groups to discuss daily, this is most often his way of teaching or covering material, so if you dont like talking amongst peers I wouldnt suggest taking the class. Very knowledgeable and funny.

I had him for Modern Cultures & I absolutely loved the class. I wish I could take him again for a different course. He explains the art pieces in a way that makes it seem so interesting. it opened my eyes to many things I had never know &/or thought of before. His lectures are also very good & hes funny. Lots of stuff on tests, but study & its easy

Comment:

Linebarger is an interesting guy. Very knowledgeable with religions and overall the class was pretty easy. The tests were what made it so tough. Most of the tests are all essay questions and he expects you to know your stuff. Besides that, every week there are discussion board posts that are easy. I've heard he is better than the other professor.

He's a good teacher, really passionate about his work. You will be studying a lot of art work, music, and literature, so be ready to read. He requires the textbook for his classes and he has discussion boards every week. Overall he's a fairly easy teacher, he goes over everything that is on the tests and they are easy to study for.

One on the very best professors on campus. Not the easiest class, but, you will have a good time learning the material. No hidden surprises, he will tell you exactly what you need to study in order to pass his tests. I give him a A+++++++

There's a lot of writing. Probably 2 papers a week, but they only have to be a page long. There's a lot of reading too. None of it is in vain though. The readings are interesting and beneficial if you're interested in the subject. Class discussions are a little scattered. Tests are essay format, and difficult if you don't read.

Absolutely loved having class with him. His lectures are more entertaining than anything, leaving you with wanting to know what happens next. Lots of memorizing music, literature, and art, but that is to be expected. Does several in-class writings for a grade. As long as you can elaborate on a topic or be descriptive, you will make an A. Great guy!

He was a nice guy and was really into his subject. He gave lots of extra credit if you go to NSU-sponsored art events, which really saved my grade. You will need to really study for his exams, though. Had lots of group activities. Also showed videos in class.

Dr. Linebarger is an excellent professor who really knows his subject. He's a little quirky, but he makes learning fun! Tests are fairly easy, just take notes during class and follow the study guide.

Easy class. Lots of bonus point opportunities. Many class discussions. A little unorganized, keeps you somewhat confused. However, the professor is very willing to explain. Book is used everyday in class. Tip: Dont be shy of nude art, because you're going to see a lot of it.

He's a good teacher but the class is a little dull. Always went to class though. Tries to be funny and sometimes is. Tests are kinda semi-hard, recommending studying before the test and pay attention when he mentions the artwork and when someone gives a presentation. Pretty good class and learned a bit. :)

Super easy! if you halfway scan the assignments then you have a chance for 20 bonus on every test plus tons of bonus outside class if you just attend a artsy event that interests you and write a couple paragraphs over it. For those who say he's hard, they're slackers who shouldn't have gone to college in the first place. Not to mention, why are they paying for a class they want to skip, not read the book or not pay attention

He was very interesting and very funny. I got an A and he is very good at giving extra credit. His tests were really easy bc they are just like the study guide. btw he also takes off some questions off the study guide and gives u every question that is going to b on the test. Plus, u grade your own quizzes.

This guy knows is stuff and is very passionate about it. He also knows, however, that Humanities is not very many people's favorite. So, he does his best to make it interesting. He tells funny jokes and dances around. He also talks a lot about his personal experiences. I strongly recommend him for those who need a Hum credit.

This guy is a RIOT! His class was easy. Keep up with his class calendar and you will do fine. I only went to class on review days and test days and made an A. On days assignments were due, I would turn them in and leave. Easy as pie.
