GREAT guy. Tells alot of stories that relate to class. Friendly, easy to get along with. He expects you to do your reading though, you can only get by without doing it if you attend every class. Explains everything well and easy to understand. Highly recommended.

One of the most difficult classes in my 5 semesters. 4 2-page papers and a 20-page group research paper with a PowerPoint presentation. Tons of reading assigned, but you can get by without reading ONLY if you go to just about every class and the review sessions before the midterms. Review sheets are very helpful!

Loomis is the man, strait up. He requires a lot of reading and thought, and does require group work. He's a real chill guy, and is one of the preofessors who still teaches a "college level" class. The type where you have to read, show what you know (blue book) and cite properly. He'll teach you a lot, glad i took the class, very useful.

Loomis is a very straightforward professor and great at teaching about the realities of a profession in natural resources. Hard class, well worth it.
