Never had such a wonderful experience. Saul Alinsky would love his tactics especially those that want to create the issue/problem and give a solution to solve it. Folknography is the new science for Community Organizers of the future. Strange though claiming himself to be Republican yet use these Alinski tactics in field projects. OU rocks!

Inspirational and gets others to easily follow suggestions. Sure a good choice for Histrionic lessons as if anyone would need them. Loyal to the game I guess. Willing to change court records and geography if need be. Willing to have other profs fail good students and change Native Am history for his students all at federal loan expense. Bye facts.

I cannot believe the University wants to dumb down still to employ someone that uses political propaganda instead of facts. Still published online are the made up stories about Blackfork Ohio.(1902-1988) Company name from Blackfork creek that runs in Jackson and Gallia Counties was not used until that coal company in 1902 moved in. psy Cluster B

This is the second class I have taken from Dr. Lucas and he is an amazing instructor. He is extremely up front about his expectations of his classes, and what the students need to do in order to receive a good grade. He is very knowledgeable on subjects that he teaches. His video introductions are very helpful. I would definitely recommend him!

Comment:

One of the most influential professors of my educational experience. Takes great pride in what he is passionate about. Whether communication, international studies or the plethora of other courses he tackles; each are met with vigor and heart. Online, you must be self motivated, be an adult. I wouldn't change the classes I attended with Dr Lucas.

One of my favorite professors of all time, hands down. Course material is valuable to any career path/major. Professor Lucas is engaging, interesting, fair, helpful, and insightful. COMS411 is a bit more difficult with the required interviews, but what you learn will exceed your expectations. Great texts, quizzes are fair, awesome lectures.

His Folknography approach is useless unless used for propaganda. Fatal for those that love the primary sources for projects those that do not BS their audience. Blackfork postal records were available on NARA record group 28 roll 457. Now blocked by OU. All those real white UGRR families are shamed by the new entitlement versions. Wyandotte beware.

Dr. Lucas is an amazing professor - he is very caring and passionate and it comes through his teaching even though I took this course online. The class requires weekly work but it is totally manageable and I actually learned a lot in this class. I would take it again if I could. I hope to work with Dr. Lucas someday in the future truly a great guy

DO NOT MISS THIS CLASS WHEN OFFERED!!! Absolutely one of the most interesting classes in 4 years at OU. I took online as I am at Athens Campus and have only a mild interest in politics and LOVED this class. I think the text used is one of the first that did not put me to sleep and his use of videos makes class far more interesting. GREAT CLASS!

Really this is a must for anyone that loves to replace facts with creative fiction writing.Former project winners had no idea what they were talking about and recieved cash awards and televised interviews. I was really worried about taking a public speaking class, but Dr. Lucas is a great teacher. He's a awesome speaker, fun to listen too, and helpful. He definently knows his stuff. He's really clear about what you are going to be graded on. Overall, and GREAT teacher.
