A lot of tests but he drops the lowest one. It's almost pointless to do the homework because tests are 90 percent of your grade...

It was an online class. There's a LOT of homework, but the tests are just like the homework so they were predictable.

Very respected in the department. His classes are slow, but that can be good for some. He follows the book very closely so that is helpful if you need to study (just get it from Drinko). People who complain about him are just too ungrateful to look past his physical disabilities and recognize that he is a wonderful professor that really cares.

The thing about Dr. Drost is that you don't take him to learn. His physical disabilities make his ability to teach almost null. However, so long as you write out something on an exam you'll get half credit for that problem. Couple that with a little book study and practice problems and its incredibly easy to pass the class.

This class was horrible. As someone who normally does well in math, I still struggled to get a C. Had to teach myself everything out of the book. Drost takes half of the class time calling roll and his writing and voice are not understandable at all. Will not answer questions.

Drost is one of the worst professors I've ever had. He teaches straight out of the book and writes like a two year old, so I can't understand anything he writes. He's about 90 years old with a walker and can't teach at all. Save yourself and take someone else. I learned nothing in this class.

Dr. Drost is an amazing professor. I took him for BioCalculus and was able to pass with ease. If you have problems with math I recommend taking him. His lectures can be slow, but he is straightforward on what he wants you to learn. Tests are roughly 7 questions (15 points each), but gives partial credit.

I am a straight A student, but math is a subject that does not come naturally to me. Dr. Drost taught slowly, so I was able to comprehend his lectures. Even though he covers most of the material in class, you must practice the textbook problems to do well on his tests. He knows his material extremely well, but this class can be boring.

Hands down best math teacher i've ever had. as a non trad. student i was rusty at math but drost explains things slow enough to really understand the material. Take dr. drost if math is not your thing you can actually learn it here. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Nice guy, good teacher. My only complaint is that he teaches straight out of the book - same examples and everything - 99% of the time. But he knows his stuff and is good at answering questions. One of the better teachers I've had at MU.

One of the better math professors at Marshall. Material is clearly explained, and directly from the book. Provided you have some interest in the material and give a mild effort, a good grade is easily attainable.

He teachers the material pretty well. His tests are not very hard. He doesn't like to grade things. So, there isn't a lot of homework. Plus, he's one of the coolest teachers EVER!

Easy class. Drost isn't as structured and organized as most math professors, kind of flows around the board when teaching but he explains things fairly clear. Teaches at a slow pase and explains everything.

Dr. Drost is a great professor whose use of examples greatly improves clarity. He is quite eccentric but he is very patient and willing to help. He also goes thru material mose slowly than your average college professor. I highly recommend Dr. Drost for MTH 203.

Dr. Drost can be intimidating at first-- he does have the Einstein look going on, but he is a very good math teacher. He knows his stuff and he is not afraid to help you out. He'll go over something countless times untill everyone is comfortable. Do your homework in here and you'll be fine. Easy A. :)
