This professor changed my life. An incredible human being. Go out of you way to get to know him. His teaachings are not linear, and learning from him goes beyond taking in information. He appreciates creativity. There's lots of reading. Ultimately you'll get out of the class what you put into it. Don't miss the chance to take a course with him!!!

The professor was funny and very helpful. The tests.. hmm.. psort of easy, but have to do the reading and pretty much memorize the notes.. At some points the lecture gets confusing, if you have no phylosophy background..

Luft is horrible, lectures are all over the place, isnt consitent with the material. Makes you read material that he doesnt even cover himself. His TA is even worse, a hard grader that is relentless himself. I would not recommend this professor at all. Did not even give a study guide and was too broad.

excelent prof. Probably one of the happiest men that i know. always smililng and saying hi to students outside of class. He really knows his material and is funny/fun guy! if you take his class, talk to him, get to know him because he really is a person to meet

Great professor and great lecturer. I was never bored listening to his lectures, yes, even at 8 am. midterm and final were all essays were a bit tough. Reading is heavy and attending classes for notes are important.

AMAZING. 1st class I've taken with him, and I plan on taking many more. His lectures facilitate note taking, are interesting, and he just has a fun spin. I was never bored. And this class was at 8AM. Going to class is necessary though. The reading is tough.

Knows his stuff, but his lectures are a bit hard to take notes from because he isn't always focused and goes off on other points alot. Add that to the fact he was talking about philosophy and history and you can imagine how confusing he could be at times. He ends his lectures early though!
