Comment:
His "quirky" delivery equals out to such: he qualifies most everything. This gives the impression that as he speaks, he is already correcting himself in his mind and anticipating and countering any objections someone might have; the end result being carefully constructed, and non-ambiguous sentences. Brilliantly analytic where others are vague.

Really nice and educated prof. Despite his informal teaching style, students have to cover a wealth of material.

TAKE ANY CLASS WITH THIS PROF! He's very good at what he does, and if you are mature enough to get over his quirky delivery, you'll never regret sitting through four-hour lectures with him. Definitely one of my top ten.

Comment:
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS MAN. I dropped it after two lectures and it was the best decision of my spring 07 term so far. Disorganized, unclear, rushed, skidish, slow to return emails, late for lectures. Seriously. For the money we pay SFU needs to get some better professors.

Just like any professor, you have to get used to his style. But he's one of the brightest professors I've ever had. Very interested in the subject matter, very sweet, very willing to help. The class appears deceptively hard at first. But believe me, it's not.

Comment:
Disorganized and unclear is an understatement. This guy can't form a coherent sentence. His marking is arbitrary. Great subject matter, international law, but he just ruins it. A political theory class with him would be unbearable. Man, can't SFU get better profs?

Comment:
Professor MacDonald was disorganized, and unclear. Lectures were more complicated than they had to be. He is a very courteous man and is eager to help students, but when he has to rush through about 75% of the lecture notes in the last 15 minutes of class, it is frustrating and only gives the students more to worry about.

Comment:
David is a great professor who will be much missed at SFU after this semester. His knowledge of political theory is excellent. While sometimes discussions will shoot off on tangents not exactly related, his loose and easy style more than makes up for this short-coming.

Comment:
This prof stutters, splutters, speaks so smittingly. He uses 19th century vernacular in his lectures, looks to the ground as thought its going to swallow him up. Disorganized, dull, demur and needs his speech distilled. I feel a hint of remorse writing such vice to someone so nice.

Take a shot everytime he says "skinner" instead of "Singer" and your **** in 5 minutes. The first few classes everyone was debating how they would survive as he said "UM" ALOT. Progessor is a good guy though, and really enjoys the subject. And he is very willing to help out a student no matter what the case. Overall a Great Professor

pretty confusing lectures, but if you pay attentoin & work through material yourself, it's not hard to get. prof is super nice & has great attitude towards students. midterm was very easy, term paper was very easy, final was very easy.

This guy is just beyond confused. People did not come to the lectures because they just made you more lost... Although the course material is interesting, he manages to screw it up. Basically, you'll be fine as long as you don't go to class.
