Nice guy, but he's seriously the worst professor I've had. The TA should've taught the class. If you can learn from 20-minute tangents and a guy who says, "I'll probably do this wrong, but [the TA] will correct me, knock yourself out. Otherwise, avoid this class.

If you're trying to get your GEC's out of the way, take this class. Lectures are a little boring, but the class is extremely easy. No sweat. Take it if you can.

Great professor! There were 3 700 word essays, 3 group discussions (easy) and a final (essay). Overall not a bad class. He explains things very well and constantly reminds you when assignments are due, which is really nice. Make sure to take good notes because the final is open note! I would recommend this class :)

At first, I thought this class was horrible, but, as the quarter goes by, it grows on you. If you're willing to do the work and back up your opinions, then you'll earn his respect.

He's a pretty good professor that likes to throw in his own brand of humor periodically to keep people awake. The class can be pretty dry, but if you copy down every example on the board, review them, and do the homework you will most likely get a good grade. Exam problems are much easier than a lot of the homework problems.Don't ever skip class.

Material covered in lectured is very fast. Sometimes his lectures were highly confusing. I took this instead of math... from what I hear I would reccommend taking 150 instead- it seems much easier. very helpful, yet all over the place. You really have to focus in this class and do the homework for a decent grade.

Prof. Shapiro rarely ever stayed on topic. I found his class really hard to pay attention in, because it seemed like most of what he was saying was totally pointless. He didn't do any grading in this class, the TA did, and the TA did a way better job teaching than Shapiro did.

Extremely scatterbrained. He knows what he's talking about, but just assumes you do too. I was so lost and felt like if I asked him to explain it he'd just make me feel slow. Other than that, he's a nice guy.

Shapiro is a very boring instructor and he tends to ramble. His grading is all over the place and his comments are confusing and hard to read. However, he lets you rewrite your essays, so it's not a big deal. It's a pretty easy class, so if you don't mind being bored for two hours, then I would recommend him.

Pretty good teacher. He's pretty funny when he lectures--kind of eccentric. It's true that he makes the TA's do a lot of the work, but the class was really easy.

This class was very pointless, and Dr. Shapiro did not do a good job teaching it. The material was inherently easy, but he made it much more confusing than it needed to be. He rambled, he messed up his math constantly, he didn't explain anything well, and he completely relied on his TAs. I do not recommend taking a class from him.

He was all right. Tended to ramble on about things that no one really cared about, but some of his stories were entertaining. Quizzes were frequent but easy.
