He is very loud. I leave class with a headache almost every class period. I managed to earn a B on my speech. His handwriting is legit scribbles and is not legible. Hes very arrogant. I recommend another professor.

This is the most condescending, self-centered, egotistic man I have ever had to misfortune to come across. He is not helpful. He is loud. He is not understanding about any circumstances that may be preventing you from participating at a certain time. He does not care about whether his students learn, just that they obey his every command.

Either you love him, or you hate him. Assignments are easy if you follow the given instructions. Tests are hard though. Overall, he is a good instructor.

This is not a class you can slack off in, I've had him for two classes and had to work for both of them but it is possible. His tests are indeed hard but if you study and GO to class and listen you are fine. He is available all the time for help, he does not turn students back and makes him self available for you to get help, its up to you!

He makes you work for it but he's a really good professor. At the beginning he can be kind of intimidating to get rid of the slackers, but later in the semester you'll see that he is a good professor and fun to be around. Be ready to work hard but it's worth it.

Test were the bubble scan tron type. Read and noted the text book. Studied what he said would be on the test. Didn't find 34 of it in HIS textbook. Longest, most boring hour. Have no idea what or why I just took this.

He is very proud of his work and lets the class know. A bit snobby but a hard teacher only because his tests are harder than they should be. As much as one would like to get a good grade in the class with a 3.5 GPA and not lower it, his class will lower you even if one tries. I am sure there is a way around this but I do not suggest at all!

He wrote the book he teaches, 'nuff said. He's loud, self-absorbed, and obnoxious. Taking notes and reading the book is not enough, he makes the test so hard you have to be him to get an A. They are filled with trick questions and he tells you that. "2 possible answers but 1 is the better one." Just take it online.

Great teacher. Doesn't care about attendance but don't miss. Take really good notes and record if you can. Always write down what he is going to cover on the test and actually review your notes. Save notes from classes if you take more than one of his classes. Start his paper early and he will review it for you to help you get a better grade.

This was one of the easiest subjects I've ever had to study, yet he taught as if he was gracing us with this remarkable discovery. He is self-absorbed, & he makes an easy class annoyingly difficult. I dropped the class because his speech requirements were ridiculous, & I needed a B to get a B in the class, which I was not confident I could make.

This was a course with only 5 grades. Three tests, a speech, and a final paper. The tests were very difficult. Reading the book was not enough. You need to memorize each chapter you read. This class is the lowest grade I have received in 3 years. The class is boring, but required.

I love his teaching style, very engaging! He is very clear and he knows his stuff. People just don't like him cause he's strict, but that's what classes need. He is a wonderful teacher and very funny! And he is an excellent writer. His book is the first textbook I've ever enjoyed reading!

He is very self absorbed and his tests are very hard. He has strict guidlines for the speech and it's hard to pass the class. On a good note, I was interested in the subject afterwards. I would take another com class, just not from McMahan.

I was told to drop this class from everyone, I didn't listen and I don't regret it. He is very interesting however like everyone says he is a jerk and totally self-observed. He tells you to come in for office hours but instead of helping and comforting he makes you feel stupid and regret even coming in. Overall, I probably wouldn't take him again.
