Very Liberal, but a brilliant man. He lectures for all 50 minutes of the class but his info is very clear. It is a crying shame that he is retiring this year, but i would definatly get him again. He is smart and challenges student to think critically. Grades kinda hard but if you pay attn. you cant fail. i got an A and loved every min. of the class

class isnt hard because you dont learn anything, but its next to impossible to get a good grade, as you have no idea what he grades on. i have only met one or two other people that could talk so long without saying anything productive. avoid at all costs if you came to college to learn.

If you let him, McQuilkin will give you the most precious gift in the academic world, which is an inkling of the nature of the real world that's about to hit you like a freight train. The key to success out here is THINKING rather than REGURGITATION. No other professor presented the situation so bluntly, and none deserves a higher rating. 10 of 5

I never had such a boring class!!!! It was at 8am on tuesday and thursday!!! For me it was a nightmare, I don't know how many times I fell asleep!!! Moreover the teacher is very unhelpful. The exams are horrible even if you ask him some questions about the essay before writing it.

He is very very liberal (which i am not). He did not respect other views at all. Very evil. I thought it was a hist class, NOT Bush bashing 101. Professors should keep their views out of the classroom. Tests hard--very abstract essay type. Evil evil man. I worked hard in the classes (had him twice) and got mere Cs both times. Evil. Evil. Evil.

After the semester was over I tried to talk to him about my grade, he was very unresponsive and very unprofessional! For 2months the ignored my letters, phone calls, emails, and was 'conviently' never there when I told him I was coming to talk. Worst, most pig headed man ever. Nice at first though

Although Doc McQuilkin is older and has a lot to say, I have to say that he has been the most helpful professor. If you have a problem, go talk to the man, and he will help you out to the best of his abilities. I really enjoyed his class.
