At first, I only took his class on the First Nation because I needed credits and it fitted well in my schedual. But his passion, the texts and the subjet were alle very good, and it interested me more. He his a tough grader, but if you participate, listen and take note, you can have a good grade! I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn.

Son cours n'est pas le plus palpitant, car il a tendance Ã lire ses notes. Cependant, lorsque vous allez le voir pendant ses heures de de disponibilitÃ©, il est trÃ¨s aidant et dÃ©vouÃ© et cherche rÃ©ellement Ã mieux rÃ©pondre Ã vos questions. La notation est trÃ¨s sÃ©vÃ¨re.

Professeur qui maÃ®trise trÃ¨s bien sa matiÃ¨re, et qui toujours prÃªt Ã aider les Ã©tudiants. Le seul problÃ¨me est qu'il maitrise mal le franÃ§ais, ce qui le rend parfois difficile Ã comprendre et Ã suivre. Really very approachable. He is a tough marker, but he is also readily available to help you through essays etc. He really demands hard work in these assignments, but I learned a lot in this course and would definitely recommend it. Very interesting and also very relevant.

This was DEFINATELY my favourite professor this semester. If you get a chance to take a class with him and you like history, be sure to do it! He taught my conference too and made sure he got to know everyone one. All and all a super great person and teacher!

His lectures are extremely interesting, engaging, and I feel like I got a lot out of his class! He is not that hard of a marker, I thought that he was fair. The readings were not too long and definitely added to my understanding of the course material. He makes an effort to learn your name, he cares a lot about students! Highly recommend!!

Meren is nice, but he's also a very hard marker. In fact, he was the hardest marker I ever had in the 4 years I spent at McGill. I can't say that I found his tough grading to be justified.

I loved Professor Meren! It was his first time teaching a class and he did an amazing job. Lectures are extremely well-organized and he does his best to make them interesting. It's a lot of reading so be prepared, but he's well worth it!
