He is a great person and you can tell he really cares about the students and sociology but I swear all he does is talk and talk and talk. He will even ask a question, then answer it himself. He often goes off on tangents about things unrelated to the topic and we fall behind. He also incorporates his political views often and its so annoying.

I absolutely LOVE Miyahara. He is one of the best professors by FAR. He really cares about his students, and is willing to help them with anything. His lectures are awesome. He always relates them back to his life so we can gain a better understanding. Read the chapter review and you'll be fine for the test:D DEFINITLEY recommend this course!

Professor Miyahara gives you the freedom to take responsibility for your education. You can either apply yourself and be proactive in reading, or you can passively listen to lectures and do pretty well. Its easy enough to pass, but the question is: Do you want to learn? He gets sidetracked super easily. But he is really knowledgeable about the subject. It is a lot of interesting info. you have to read one novel and do and analysis, then there are three tests that are kinda hard. read the textbook and you'll be fine. mandatory attendance though:/

Miyahara is a great guy! His laugh is so cute and he's really passionate about sociology. He goes off on alot of tangets. I didn't really pay attention in class and only read the summaries at the end of each chapter. The papers and projects were not bad at all. I got an A in the class. The tests are very hard but he curves it so everyone does well.

Awww I love Miyahara! He gets too excited sometimes and starts to stutter, but you just have to love the guy! I love his stories, and sociology is SO COOL! After this class you look at society a lot different. Take this class with him!!
