Comment:

If you like lecture heavy conversation, and going DEEP into detail then this is the professor for you. If not avoid at all costs. He does not help you at all if you ask for help. He goes way into detail about things and is great at repeating himself. He is very soft spoken and vague.

This guy is the absolute epitome of a genius who shouldn't be teaching students. You will have a hard time understanding what he wants and he flip flops on what he says to do. If you get a B in this class consider it an A. Web design majors beware. This class is useless.

Comment:

Moyer is a great professor, he expects a lot out of his students. Always read the material, he will ask you questions during his lecture. If the class is unresponsive he will give pop quizzes but they can be avoid by participation. Don't be afraid to visit him or ask questions he may seem scary at first but he is more than happy to help you succeed

Moyer is very intelligent and expects a lot from his students. It is important not to take the criticisms of your projects to heart. He pushes everyone to achieve high quality final projects. I've had him for both 2D and 3D design, and I've learned an incredible amount from him.

Moyer is extremely tough. Classes are dry and boring. No matter what you do, it must be better. He actually says perfect isn't good enough for him. Projects take about 10 hours and there is homework due every class. If you're in Web Design just assume you will measure to his standards. Also, do not take this class thinking it is a fun art elective!

Moyer is very intelligent but he tries to be really clear by giving situations that students can relate to. He isn't a mean person but if you're lazy you will fail and you really don't have anyone to blame. Still, it was sometimes hard to grasp what was expected even when we asked him to clarify but I think it's because art is very subjective

Although he may be a tough professor, he helped you understand what was expected in a real life setting. Expected nothing less than perfect, and gave plenty of time in class to work on projects. Good class when you learn what to expect.

Mr. Moyer is an awful professor who only speaks in useless metaphors that leave students clueless. He expects perfection and if your craftmanship is not the only grade you will recieve is a C, no matter how many hours you waste on the assignment. Don't even get me started on the "music" he tortures us with. I dread every day I have class with him.

Mr Moyer is a very hard teacher. He likes to weed out the students that don't care. He is hard and very demanding. Your work must be perfect and on time. If you ask for help he listens but will not technically help you. He has left a lot of student crying after class. I am stuck with him for the next few terms and I am dreading it.

He is intelligent, I will give him that. However,he will question and comment on everything you do. Make sure you have a logical answer that you can defend through and through. As a person he might be alright but he cannot teach. Only reason I learned anything was because I watched other students. Be prepared for rude and unhelpful comments also.

As far as professor David Moyer goes there is a lot to be satisfied and wary about. He is definitely out for perfection but teaches you to be better with craftmenship and presentation. I did not like him at first but honestly I wouldn't avoid him. If you can handle criticism you will do fine. Otherwise you will probably have a lot to learn/handle.

Moyer is NOT for the closed minded. He is unreasonably intelligent and a perfectionist. You will do well in his class if you do your best to understand what is expected of you. Do not miss class, spend a considerable amount of time on the homework, & avoid thinking "Eh, that's good enough", because it won't be. He appreciates effort as well.

Mr. Moyer may be a hard professor to pass, but taking the class is well worth it. If you failed, you neglected details and you only have yourself to blame. And in GD you must pay attention to details or you will be a terrible designer. He is a very helpful man and will help you if you ask, whether its about class or extracurricular activities.

My first few years, I was confident that Moyer was the devil reincarnate. i failed 2d & 3d, & he said I wouldn't make it thru the program. after type I , my opinion completely changed. 4 those who say he's condescending: respect is earned, not given. he's an intelligent man that likes intelligent people- just listen closely, speak intelligently.

I took him for Type 11 and learned allot. He has a good sensibility for type and is an expert at what he does. He is however difficult to talk to. Its almost like he gets uncomfortable when speaking to students and is very condescending. However, I would probably be the same way if I had to deal with whiny students everyday.

Ignore what most people day, Mr. Moyer is a great teacher. He knows what he is talking about and you will learn a lot from him, especially in his type classes. He has some pretty good/funny stories to help convey his points.

as nervous as i was to take him, i dont really regret it. hes not as bad as people think. just really try to listen to what hes saying. he actually helped me, and i did alright in his classes. i got 2 b's and and a, which isnt too bad. only thing is..he speaks to the class as if we are 5 years olds..him and his stories..lol
