Wow just dont take him. He just doesn't care, point out mistakes in notes and he wont change it. Keeps using it semister after semister. only UCF could keep him as a teacher. UCF hires researchers and not teachers, not sure if this guy sliped through but feel sorry if you get stuck with him.

Brilliant professor who has mastered his work. Nice guy too. Funny in class. Now for the bad part...very disorganized, tries to collect hw that was never assigned, constantly gets lost, only teaches proofs and tests on problems. Read Wikipedia and you can probably learn more. Unfortunately this means he is one of the best in the eng department.

I would not suggest this professor for Solids. No textbook used, insufficient and confusing posted notes, and the in class examples are hard to study from due to all the algebra/calc errors. Sometimes skips steps without explaining. Also, test problems sometimes need different techniques than what are learned in class to solve!

I have never felt so lost as I was in this class. From day one I knew that Dr. Nicholson would be a tough teacher, but I've always been able to tolerate such professors by simply applying myself harder. I had a 4.00 GPA upon entering this class, so don't get the impression that I'm just a poor student. This man is the worst teacher I've ever had.

This is for EGM 3601 by the way. He is terrible. His notes are very hard to understand. I was confused during every lecture because it's all proofs. He is a good guy but a terrible professor. DON'T BUY THE BOOK! He does not use it at all!. Just study the homeworks and practice tests and hope he his generous with grading. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!

Well I cant say he's a good teacher. Mumbles a lot, homework is ridiculous eventhough he doesnt grade them too harshly. But I was completely lost in the class. His teaching methods are not good. I would avoid him if i could believe me please!! If not just be ready to be confused 85% of the time!

very approachable in the office. his notes have been wrong for years and his usual line is "this is wrong but let's continue anyways." smartest guy you will probably meet.. numerous publications, books, etc. he just can't teach.. you will not learn anything in his class except that the mohr's circle is useless; this is his usual first joke in class

One of the best professors I've had. Don't listen to those who complain about his notes being "wrong," these are just arithmetic errors and finding them will strengthen your knowlegde anyhow. Makes an honest effort to be interesting and nice.

This guy can not teach. His notes are horrible, unorganized and most of the time they are WRONG. What makes it worse is that he lectures off of his notes ONLY. He really can not teach. The only way you pass is to teach yourself the material with the homework.

This guy is an enigma to me. He uses his own notes and they are in a format so alien to the class that it's like taking another language. Don't buy the book. His tests are very fair, but the homework is tough. Good thing it's only 5%. He mumbles a lot and can't really teach, but the tests are fine.

Go to class, do your homework, and put in a good amount of time and i don't see why you won't do well. Hard to follow at times. Goes by his own notes, not book at all. Overall, I think this teacher will make you learn your stuff and you will know solids when you are done.

Had us buy the book, but a)skips around without telling you where he is going in the book. and b) does not even begin to use the notation in the book. mumbles. Makes about 2 mistakes a minute. bad handwriting. ugly diagrams. horrible teacher. period.

hands out note packets everyday. gets real mad when people talk during class. tests are hard as hell, project isnt to bad. dont even try to follow the notes he gives in class, he keeps switching notation, helpful if you go to his office
