Comment:

One of the kindest professors I've had at Smith so far. Charming, humorous, and understanding. Made me really appreciate statistics, which really surprised me since I have no interest in numbers before that. He explains things really well and has really creative examples. Gives lots of resources. Study the handouts for terms!

Comment:

Great professor, super funny and helpful, very understanding. He gave me an extension on the homework just because I was tired. Class is a little boring, but that's just because it's a mandatory stats class. He overexplains things a bit sometimes, but it's not a big deal. Make sure to study the terms though - they're more important than procedures.

This is a truly great professor! He really cares about his students progress and doesn't mind explaining things in multiple ways. He is good about office hours and comes up with ways to make statistic questions funny! There is a lot of work, but if you have to take this for your major take it with him!

He is the best professor out there! I was dreading stats and he held my hand through the whole thing. He is clear and pays attention to those struggling in the class. He makes a point of trying to learn everyone's name in the first week. He works through problems with you in his office hours until you get it. I love Dave! Take his class!

He's great. Truth be told, i do frequently fall asleep in lecture, but i think that has more to do with the room than his teaching style. He's chipper and nice, gives you lots of time to complete tests and assignments, and has a very odd sense of humor that makes the class interesting.

His stats class was amazing. He is the sweetest man ever. He is ALWAYS willing to answer questions whether during class, office hours, or whenever. You have to study/practice problems for his tests so don't let him fool you; however, the tests are not that bad. He even brought us cookies on some test days! So sweet!

David is an absolute sweetheart. He is so kind and helpful. Stats was not my thing at all. I had a tough time, and he helped me every step of the way. He remembers everyones name, and he really makes every effort to make students feel comfortable. He sings, he dances, he makes jokes. He is brilliant.

i am currently taking stats for psych. in grad school. my prof here couldnt touch dave with a ten foot pole! i HEART dave palmer. he teaches with such clarity. i sooo wish i still had his notes so i could refer back to them during this VERY stressful statistics experience i'm having now! you should love palmer like i do....you'll thank yourself for doing so, later.
