Lectures are awful. He never stays on topic on them. Grades the out of class papers hard. no extra credit given. Tests are very hard because they aren't by definition only examples. He's rude and not worth taking if you want a good GPA

Dr. Perkins' lectures are boring, and hard to pay attention because he does not make them interesting. In my opinion, I would study hours for the exams and only got one A. The exams consist of many examples, and you have to expand upon the material, but he doesn't do that in his lectures. He is rude and I would not recommend him for psychology.

He was not helpful at all, the tests were really hard, and there was so much information and he was not good at explain anything. You will not pass this class with an A, no matter how hard you try. Take this class with a different professor. The tests were all examples, and he did not prepare us for it what so ever. WORST teacher ever.

Not a bad professor by any means. He is very nice and helpful if you can get him one on one. In terms of lecture, it needs work. The worst part is that he does provide note for the class, but they are his abbreviated notes. Be ready to pay attention and take your own notes. Book is not necessary.

If you don't go to the lectures, then you wont pass. Tests are based on lectures, but the class is very easy and common sense. For VIZI lessons, make sure to read his notes so you can get all of the points. He drops the lowest test, two lowest VIZI grades, and an in class writing.

Definitely take notes and pay attention. He has 6 tests and a cumulative final. The only annoying thing is that he has 12 vizi's to complete throughout the semester, a few in-class writings that are simple and 2 papers. You don't need the textbook at all throughout the semester if you just study his powerpoints. Only need textbook for last paper.

I wasn't entirely fond of him. Opinions shot down, can be rude. Pay attention to clicker questions! Some may appear on tests, so take note of ones you get wrong! Don't pay attention to due dates listed in blackboard, they're from 2014 and 2015. He lowered my love for psychology. Not very approachable.

Great professor. He's very passionate about teaching and wants everyone to do well in the class. He also incorporates humor into the lectures. His TA is very helpful as well and if you don't understand something, he'll explain to you more in his office hours.

He is a good professor, but he conveys the lecture material in a way that is sometimes difficult to understand. I learned all the material from reading the textbook because his lecture powerpoints were often misleading and unrelated to the actual topic of discussion. He includes many iClicker questions during his lectures.

I personally did not like Perkins because he never fully answered my questions. I went to his office a few times and still did bad in his class.

People on here seem like they have their feelings hurt, but in reality Perkins is a great professor with some interesting lectures. Not very difficult either. One of my favorite professors. He is also a total savage, so you'll probably enjoy his class.

Dr. Perkins has dry humor, but his lectures are very useful. I use/think about many of his lessons in my daily life. There are 6 tests (25-30 questions) but one of them gets dropped at the end of the semester. If you read the book, you are likely to get B's or A's on the tests. He is probably one of the better choices among Psychology professors.

Do not take him as a psychology professor. He completely took my love for psychology away. He is very boring in his lectures and is rude when you ask him questions. Also he does clicker points every class and will make side comments if all of us do not answer quick enough.

He is not a very consistent grader. Also expect to do outside homework such as essay and online lessons. Quite a bit of tests throughout the year and also a cumulative final for the end of the semester. Gives his students a hard time and can come off as rude.

This man is the worst human I have ever met. If you like psych please do not take this class. He took my love of psych away from me. You get clicker question he gives you 30 seconds to answer and every 2 seconds he is yelling at you to answer. He is rude and is unfair. The only good things about him is he drops 1 test, 2 inclass writings, & 2 vizi
