Comment:

Attend lectures because that's what is on the test. Mandatory online book in order to do homework. Homework is easy but make sure to do it all. Test are tricky due to the ambiguity of the phrasing, so take notes because that will determine which answers are correct. Book material not necessary to study, just whatever he lectures N powerpoints.

His lecture is straightforward and to the point. Much of the questions asked on the exam are from his lecture slides and anything else he writes on the board during lecture. Labs were fun and simple to do. Study only what he asks you to study in lab to get a good grade on the final.

I LOVED this class! Polcyn is an incredible teacher. Made the material easy to understand and very interesting. Assignments are basically credit/no credit. His exams are short and to the point. He is fair, easy going, interesting and funny! Made the topic fun to learn about! You have to really try to not pass this class.

Polcyn is by far the best bio professor Ive had. His lectures are very engaging and he wants to make sure all of his students understand the material. His tests are very straight forward and not hard. I did not open the text book for this class. Come to every lecture because he likes to explain things more thorough than the power points he posts.

Dr. Polcyn has to be one of the best professors i have ever had. He talks about the material so clearly! he is fair, clear and to the point. nothing will be a surprise with Polcyn. he gives you everything you need to succeed!

I looooooved this class. It gave me a better understanding of how we can and do affect the environment in both positive and negative ways. He is a great professor! Explains well and appeared to be passionate about the subject being taught.

Online assignments are required, however they do not prepare you for the exams. Lectures are a waste of time, and he takes more than two days to reply via e-mail. Most of the questions are on material that's barely touched upon in lecture and instead emphasize the material he spends very little time discussing. Please don' take this Professor.

Prof. Polcyn was not a tough prof. but he wasn't helpful either. He gives 2 midterms & a final, all of them are based upon the text. He also used the McGraw-Hill program so that digital code was an extra purchase, & there was a quiz for each chapter online. I'm not sure if I would take him again or not, but the class content was interesting.

He was pretty cool i liked him a lot. this class is also taught by williams, her test was so freaken hard half of it was TF and a lot contradicted each other so if you got 1 wrong, you go the other one wrong too! Polcyn's test wernt that hard, just study the PP and your good to go. didnt touch the book but i did go back and refer to it though

Seems like such an easy class but I felt like his tests were trying to confuse you. He could word things a lot better. Lectures were boring. Offers A LOT of extra credit from in class quizzes which is really helpful and good for those who show up.

3 exams 75, 100 , 125 pts each there is 30 points extra credit from quizes his lectures are boring and he spends like 30 mins per slide but you can tell he is passionate DO NOT BUY THE BOOK NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS DONT for his tests you have to study its not all straight forward but you can pass with an A if you try

You don't need to buy the book. I got an A on all three exams by just going to lecture and reviewing the lecture notes. He is really thorough with his information, sometimes spends a long time on a topic but that just ensures you'll know the information. :)

Easiest bio professor you will ever have while giving you a straight facts. He will lecture in a topic for 30-40 mins then tell you not to worry bout it because it won't be on the test

Lecture doesn’t have to be attended to understand the concepts; however, the exams are much more friendly if you’re there to listen to him teach. (3 of them, final being cumulative). The class shouldn’t be found boring, what’s covered highly pertains to us and everything we see on a very literal basis.

Dr. Polcyn is very engaging and consistent in his lectures. He kept my attention during class most of the time, so definitely make the time to go. His exams are straight forward and based on his lectures. He made this class an enjoyable experience. I recommend taking one of his classes, you will learn about the subject matter.

Very easy class. its not hard to get an A, you do have to go to class if you want an A though. If your okay with a C dont go to class and just review notes at home. His lectures are VERY boring and the book isnt necessary to buy. just use the one he has on reserve in library. for the most part its pretty simple...

Worst prof I have had. Have a 4.0 and he is by far the worse in my 3 years here. def avoid. Class only hard because he is so bad.
