This is by far the worst professor at Geneseo. Save yourself and don't take this class. He is not helpful to students who are not geology majors and will find random things on exams or papers to deduct points from. His lectures are horrible and make zero sense. His grading criteria for the final debate and report are non existant.

Robertson is by far one of my favorite profs at Geneseo. You have to take notes in his classes to pass, but you should be doing that anyway. Hes coordinated, nice, and answers all your questions. If you put in the usual amount of effort, you'll get a good grade. Read, take notes, have fun - you'll do great.

This class was a waste of time. If I could go back I wouldn't take it again. This professor tests on statistics that he will mention once in class. Lazy as well. Hopes of skipping? Not likely. Only tests on lectures. If you have to miss skim the book or get the notes from someone else. Take GOOD notes. Pretty much have to write everything he says

I had him last semester, and he was great! such a cool dude, i honestly wish i was his friend. the tests are the material straight from class, so go and take good notes. Also, make sure you know the statistics because theres quite a few of those. the EOR 's are not hard, and are just a grade booster. really interesting class.

90% of grade is exams - 35%, 35% and 20% final. 10% is a 3 page paper on an envo related event. 2% extra credit for a 2 page paper. I advise against taking this class unless you're good with exams. Midterms are only 70 questions, so every question is .5% of your grade. Textbook is only used for 6-7 hw questions on each exam, so just borrow it.

I went to most of his classes, made 9 page review sheets, studied with others, yet I still struggled on his tests. Ridiculous. Very condescending to students and made asking for help unpleasant. He refused to take my extra credit assignment for no reason, saying " I don't have to waste my time helping you out". Are you kidding me?! You assigned it!

Robertson is the best professor in the Geneseo Geography department, I say that having taken at least one class with all of them. He is tough but fair, you will certainly pass if you do the work and go to class. Not only is he a great professor, but he is a great guy and helped me immensely as the geography chair. Two thumbs way up.

Great guy. Fairly easy grader with extra credit options available. Tests are super easy just go to class and get the notes. He will tell you in lecture everything that is on the test. You just have to go.

Helpful, funny guy you can have beer with. Homework & outreach reports totally doable. Instructs material clearly but not concisely. Reads off notes instead of presenting PPTs by memory --> dry lectures. Too many statistical Qs on exams, which should be more conceptual. Should break up lectures with videos so students are more interested in class

He is a great speaker and very knowledgeable about the environment. I feel like the only major thing he could improve is his grading scheme. Altogether, tests should not be worth 80%-90% of your grade. If he is going to make tests worth that much of your grade he should ask better questions on tests. Make sure you do all of the homework.

I loved Dr. Robertson. The class was really straightforward and the Google Earth assignments were fairly easy. He is really approachable in office hours and the help sessions and is willing to help you do well. I found the class really interesting. Highly recommend. Definitely do all 4 Google Earth assignments.

Do not need textbook. Take notes and you won't fall asleep cause lectures can get dry. Class goes by fairly fast. Grading is fair. Do all the GE assignments. Make sure not to copy off each other cause he reads through them all. Pretty simple to get an A. Work hard and go to class.

Two test and 4 GE assignments. 2 GEs are mandatory and 2 are optional. Do all 4 you get an extra 4 point boost on your grade at the very end and the exam:GE is 60:40. Do 2 and it's 80:20. Go to class esp for the final exam. He put a lot of inclass material that's not on pp on the final exam. Not hard to get an A. Sometimes boring. overall recommend

Easy class. Easy going guy, presents all the info you need to know on powerpoints (which are also posted online). Grades from 2 tests, a debate, a paper and attendance. An easy A- at least if you put the study time in for the tests, your grade can be lowered if you get a bad debate group (chosen at random).

Don't take this class if you're a good student looking for a good grade. Regardless of how much work you put into the test he will still find points to take off. Tests are out of 30 points and there are only 2 tests that count for 50% of your grade meaning that each point he takes off for the silliest of reasons really hurts your grade.

Good teacher, very clear power points. Material is fairly basic (I took a similar class last semester however). Attendance not mandatory, I often skip and still pull off good grades. Provides PLENTY of extra credit opportunities. Recommended

This class was awesome! Professor Robertson knows his stuff and really enjoys teaching. The class was really interesting and not hard at all. Do the HW. Its really easy and will help you with the test. You don't have to read any of the textbook material. Make sure you go to class to receive the necessary statistics that he reveals before the test.
