He was hard to get in ouch with. I had several questions regarding the class and he didn't respond for a while. IN the online chats, he always pick & chose ho he responded to and if he didn't like your answer, then he would call you out on it. He also didn't keep the grade book up to date. I did not learn much from this class

Comment:

This is the worst teacher I've ever had. He might be a great person but will not teach you anything. His assignments are never clear, he doesn't critic your work( or even if he does he wont say anything important, he can't explain himself), always late for class. Most of the time students don't do anything important in class, just wasting time.

He is a GREAT person, but he is not a GREAT teacher. I really like him and enjoy his classes, but I didn't learn very much. Sometimes he tries to talk above you, but I found that the smartest people are the ones who can clearly speak at any level to anyone. He needs to relax and not try so hard.

As a Brescia Alumni I have to say that the Art Dept. at Brescia is great! Dave is an excellent teacher and is willing to let students be creative and innovative if they want to. Students that would put down these talented instructors need to figure out if they really need to be wasting their time in college and consider online surveys as a career.

Dave's a great guy, just not a great teacher. There's typically a lot of confusion with assignments because he uses a bucketfull of words for a spoonful of thoughts. But he's often willing to work with students when they have problems. Often doesn't learn new material before he teaches it. Can, however, be fun to talk to.

Likes to hear arguments against his own ideas. A little slow coming out with his ideas, and they seem scattered at first. As he talks them out he becomes more clear. I had a blast in his Aesthetics and Ethics class.

I was disappointed in the class. I expected to learn about art, but instead I learned nothing. Discussed the same thing throughout the entire semester, and what we discussed had hardly anything to do with art or appreciating it.

He's a good teacher...just misunderstood because he's very vague and philosophical. I've never had a problem w/ Dave; he's easy to get along with and is willing to restructure assignments to apply more to students' needs.
