Dr. Smith's FAS 1304 class was not very difficult. It's a class where you get the opportunity to speak and question. It is very conversational and he gives you the freedom to make an argument on readings, but make sure you read or the class itself will be very difficult and make sure to respond to discussion posts on Canvas in order to succeed.

I am totally and completely in love with this guy... well his mind at least!! He is an amazing teacher and his lectures are very informational and a lot of fun! I would totally recommend him to anyone at Baylor University.

BEST TEACHER EVER. I'm not a history guru, but he makes me wish I was a history major. Every day is a blast and he really makes you eager to learn more. He tells history like a story and it's absolutely fabulous. TAKE ONE OF HIS CLASSES. Downside = no text book, all test material comes from his lectures so attending class is MANDATORY

The absolute best professor i have ever had, not in just a history class,but overall. It is not an easy class though. You have to take notes on his lecture, he gives no notes or powerpoints or anything. Also no textbook. Take GOOD notes, go to class (a must!), and study all your notes for the tests. Tests are 100% Fill in the blank. 3 essays(easy).

This class was like having story time every day. He makes history even more fascinating than it already is and really wants his students to do well. He doesn't use the textbook, so lectures are the only way of getting information for the tests, but the tests are easy. Go to class anyway! It's one of the only fun classes here!

If you can, take one of Dr. Smith's classes. He is one Baylor's best professors, not only because he loves what he teaches, but because he also cares about his students. Sitting through his class is like having story time. He injects life and meaning into history, has a funny vocabulary, and he knows his stuff. Great personality, too.
