Mr. Stout is a wonderful man. He makes class fun with his humor and also doesn't kill you with assignments. He doesn't care about attendance. He doesn't make due dates on papers. He is beyond easy-going and flexible. I highly recommend taking his course.

Stout is amazing!!! Makes doing the work fun and interesting. A little bit of a tough grader but he is more than willing to proofread before handing in the papers. Plus you can hand anything multiple times to revise.

Excellent teacher. He definitely made class fun. He allows you to rewrite every paper how can't you get a good grade. Even your final paper if you finish it early he will grade it for you to rewrite it. I highly recommend his class for English.

He's really tough, but really awesome. I always enjoyed his lectures that were littered with profanity and his honesty. He openly told us that we would "f*cking hate reading some of this stuff" but lectured passionately anyway. Little tough, but ultimately rewarding. My favorite professor at LCCC.

The guy is a total a** he graded my WCE two other full time professors told me I would have passed if they would have graded my writing. In order to override the grade Stout gave me on the WCE I had to go to the English Chair person. The guy does not know good writing if it hit him in the head.

One of the absolute best college courses i've ever taken! I loved this class. He's extremely informative, knowledgable and has a good sense of humor. He's really big on attendance - so make sure you go and pay attention. I strongly reccomend that you take one of his classes, if you have the opportuniy. I can't say enough about him.

Class could be accurately described as "Storytime With Stout" followed by Trivial Pursuit. First exam is 1,200 questions - no joke. Class is very enjoyable, but you are expected to remember an insane amount of detail, and with only three tests (the only graded assignments) per semester, the amount of material you're expected to remember is nuts.

I had absolutely no interest in English, hated it in high school, but he made it fun. He gave everyone a chance to rewrite any paper they did not receive a grade with which they were happy. Great teacher. He also helped with papers for other classes.

he made himself out to seem worse than he was, but the 800 question midterm was not that bad. we had four take home essays that i took a lot of time on, but recieved very little comments on my essays other than a grade. i did not appreciate that. he is very lively in class so if you like literature you'll like him.

Stout is a great teacher, he did his grad work at Oxford University... what a wealth of information just on that alone! He is quite sinister..if you miss a class, he notes it and you can find yourself getting that topic you missed as your essay! NO JOKE! Moral of the story... do not miss any of Stout's classes... he is worth showing up to class for
