Comment:
Dr. Vaggalis teaches material that is boring and dense. He is unclear with paper assignments but takes off points if you did not understand exactly what he meant from his vague description. If your opinion differs from him it is not valid. I would rather have slept in.

Dr. Vaggalis takes the time to encourage students to do the best they can. Philosophy can seem daunting but if you actually approach him, he will help you. If you can make a decent argument, then your opinion is valid. I don't understand the comments saying student opinions don't matter because they do. Taking every class possible with him.

He is a nice person, but he does not explain things very clearly. Tests are tough and it's difficult to know what he expects on the essays.

Took him for government. He gave study guides and the test had half of the questions directly from the guide. It's a lot of information, but it doesn't get more clear cut than that. If you put the work in you'll be fine.

Ted is an incredible guy, he is understanding and definitely tries to ensure you pass. I really have appreciated him so far. Definitely one of those professors you want to switch majors to take again. Great! I had some issues writing some papers but he gives great feedback and my grade went up!

I would avoid this class and Professor Vaggalis if at all possible. He does a poor job of writing paper prompts, yet expects students to somehow know exactly what he wants. It also seems that the 'correct answer' is always 100% his opinion with no variance for original thought, no matter how well supported.

Very difficult, but students are guaranteed to learn a lot. I disagree with coinciding with his opinion--I always wrote essays based on my views and I'd say I did pretty well. Though he's a little unorthodox, he's a great professor overall and I look forward to having more of his classes.

I'm not at all interested in philosophy, so this class was hard for me to be interested in, but Vaggalis is nice and willing to help when you need it. But I didn't like that he'd go weeks without a real assignment and then suddenly assign multiple papers at once, definitely not very considerate of him...

Professor Vaggalis is a very good teacher. He may not be clear while going over what exactly he wants on a paper, but he makes sure it is all written down for you. He is upbeat during the entire period of class. He makes learning & understanding fun! :) He is awesome!

This is one of the best professors at Drury. Yes, he is hard, but you will learn more about the subject matter and yourself if you take the time and work hard. I completley diagree with all other reviews that stated that he only wanted his own opinion. I recieved the best grades on papers where I submitted my opinion, agreeing or not with his.

Smart as hell. Great guy. Doesn't force any belief system down your throat, but will challenge you to defend yourself. He did kind of shaft me on my grade, but I really could care less. I enjoyed the class and can say that I learned something from him. I've only said that about 5 professors in my entire academic career.

Same as others, doesn't want to hear your opinion, wants to hear his opinion in your words. Loads of boring reading, and his paper assignments are annoying.

I spent three and a half years avoiding this man after a semester of Alpha. I reluctantly took him my final semester for Values. Best decision I ever made. He's not the easiest professor. But he's a great guy and really, truely wants you to do your best. Participate in class; talk to him in his office. Show him you care. You'll do well.

Worst class of all time in 4 years at Drury. Kept us up to 20 minutes after the class should end most every day. If your opinion didn't agree with his opinion you were guaranteed a C or less. JERK.

He claims to want students to be open-minded, but really wants everyone to believe what he believes. He also seems to "play favourites."
