Comment:

He mentioned not much math in this course, however all of the homework was math based. I repeatedly emailed for help and help was given but still not understood. Lectures are too fast with too much info to digest. No time to ask for elaboration. Not very approachable. Laughed at students' responses (discouraging others)

Comment:

If you don't like math, you won't like his teaching style. Uses calculus equations instead of words so everything is extremely unclear. Exam questions always use this math but never in a way covered in class, so you're expected to understand it fully so as to go beyond class material. Not a fun course but he's a nice guy, and knows his stuff.

Disorganized, unclear, rambling. This guy likes to walk around with a stunned look on his face and scribble on the board. Absolutely the worst prof I have ever had. He might be better for lower-level classes but the obvious disinterest he has for teaching is appalling.

Damn good prof. He managed to teach a course full of Calc 3 level math to a bunch of students who didn't have experience past calc 2. I highly reccomend.

I heard a student say Straub told him the only classes he really cared about were the upper levels, and you could tell in class. Even so, the course material was interesting, if you're into that sorta stuff. Funny guy.
