He uses iClicker for attendance and it doesnt work well at all cause the WiFi is always iffy. He only lectures and only grades based on iClicker questions and tests. Hes nice but hes really unorganized and hes too soft spoken for a large lecture hall. He also hardly uses Canvas so you dont know your grade.

Has you use clickers to take attendance but they only work some of the time. Tells you to buy the book but never directly references it/tells you what to read. He also says you can buy any bio book, so that's confusing. He's a nice guy, but doesn't really seem very organized as a professor.

I think he means well but is definitely not fit for teaching, usually just goes through the slides as fast as possible and then will tell you most people fail his tests. If you want to pass as well as learn I suggest taking someone else.

I had David Tapley this past semester for World Of Cells, and most of the time, he was nasty to the students. Towards the end of the semester, he was trying to make sure everyone passed with a good grade. I thought I was gonna get a C overall, but I ended up getting an A- and I was pleased. Still, his class is tough so be prepared for hard tests.

Tapley was by far the worst professor I have ever had in college. He is extremely disrespectful to students. When a student raises their hand to participate he says "what" every time. His tests are impossible to pass and when the entire class failed, he blamed it on us. He's extremely disorganized. Wish I had more space to slam him. DONT TAKE HIM.

If you want a professor who is rude and cares little about your success in the class you got him. He goes through slides too quick to take sufficient notes and when you ask him about something on a previous slide he tells you to look at his slides online. Basically, you're teaching yourself about the subject if you take his class.

he was the worst teacher i have ever had. Lecture was just him talking and rushing through slides without giving us a chance to take notes and he never posted slides on time and even when he did post them they were not the same slides used in class! everyone failed his one test and he got off topic all class long. I LEARNED NOTHING

Literally the worst professor Ive ever had. Talks nonsense and is very unclear on what you really need to know for a test or whatever. Wish I never took him for lecture. Biggest mistake.

HORRIBLE!!! Had him for environmental problems and we did math and conversions everyday. Very cocky and rude and thinks he is funny by being mean. Doesn't care about student success and makes you feel dumb when you asks questions. Will not tell you what is on the test so you have to read the book and hope for the best. Highly do NOT recommend!

Took Marine Biology with Professor Tapley, good class but he is all over the map when it comes to material. Class mainly consists of 2 or 3 tests, a couple quizzes and a project. He is always falling behind on material and assigning assignments. If looking for a course elective would suggest choosing a different science elective.

Had Dr. Tapley in the past and he's always been more than fair. He explains things in depth and works hard to get every single student to understand the concepts. His wealth of knowledge and the passion he has for teaching has made a very tough course much more manageable and less stressful. I am extremely thankful that I had him for BioChem Lab.

This is the rudest, most inconsiderate professor I have ever had. Tests are AWFUL & when you ask for help on what to study or focus on his response is "read the chapters." He has a cocky response for everything & makes you feel dumb when you ask questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM. You will fail.

Definitely the absolute WORST professor I have ever had. Lectures the entire class, thinks you should already know everything, and tests are impossible. Doesn't give you any clue of what to study for quizzes or tests, you'll most likely fail. I'm a straight A student who was forced to drop this class because I was failing. DO NOT take him!!

He knows what he is talking about and expects everyone to be a biologist even if you are only taking biology as an elective. He makes you feel like you arnt smart. Tests are vague and count for a lot. I would not take a class with him again.

He's smart but he knows it, and it makes him quite condescending. He basically laughs at us the whole time, he's asked our entire class if "we're sure we want to be biology majors?" Because we apparently are that bad at labs. He can sometimes be funny, but his lack of orginization and passive aggressiveness ruin the entire course for me

Although very knowledgeable about the subject professor Tapley does not organize his class at all. he published an online quiz on chapters 1-4 when we were learning about chapter 9. He's just all over the place. The class however is an easy grade. All exams and quizzes are online which your grades is based off of and attendance is not mandatory.

I had him for both my lecture and lab freshman year. At first I was a bit hesitant considering previous reviews and he came off a bit strong. In the end he was the best professor I had and have been eager to take another one of his classes since. I am now a junior and can now see the value of a good professor. He makes you work, but it's worth it.

It isn't the easiest class, but considering this was the first science class I have taken in over five years and how nervous I was that i may fail, I think the class was great. He was always willing to help if needed and I found him to be a generally great guy, not a bad lecturer at all.

When you read all of the reviews for Tapley, one might get overwhelmed like I was before my first day taking his class. Now, a month in his class I have discovered my own opinion. Tapley is an eager professor to teach, he enjoys what he does and he seems to always be smiling and enthusiastic. I enjoy his class even though his lectures are long.
