he's a nice guy but lacks excitement when teaching this course. He tesches off the top of his head and not according to syllabus plus we rarely used our textbook! Test were hard and if you go to him for help, don't expect any results. His favorite quote... "figure it out on your own". Funny...I thought his job was to TEACH.

Okay, so Thorndill isn't hard. He does LOVE birds. If you have a questinon don't expect him to give you a straight answer. He's very boring, but he offers a very passable course. So GOOD LUCK!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. no matter how many times I went to him for help, he wouldn't help me. He made me stay one hour after lab was over because I didn't draw one dot on my diagram. I didn't know what I did wrong and he wouldn't help me! The last class he turned into this super cool teacher and rapped to our class about birds.

First let me say this, Professor Thorndill is not mean and I believe his grading is fair. The issue is he doesn't explain things fully. If you have further questions about a lecture he gave, it is difficult to obtain a straight awnser from him. If you are good at figuring things out on your own you will do well in this class.

I do not recommend this professor to any college student. The easier topics he spends a lot of time on, and the harder topics he rushes through. He does not follow the book at all. In fact, he contradicts it all the time and I seriously do not think he has a full grasp of the class he is teaching. On a good note, the birds part is fun.

definitely a unique teacher. I knew what i was doing in his class because i just got out of high school, but those who have not been in science classes recently prepare for some studying. He is a fast teacher in both his lectures and lab classes. Do not expect strait answers from him, he will beat around the bush for as long as you can stand talkin

The man loves squirrels & birds! He is mother nature in a mans body! He was one of the best professors I have ever had! Read the textbook, complete the study guide practice tests that he gives you before each test and ask questions if you have any and you will definitly pass this class! I absolutely recommend Dr. Thorndill as a Biology teacher!

I took Biology 110 in the Spring of 2007 for a full semester and the teacher failed me! I was a bit nervous to take Bio 110 in the summer for only 5 weeks but after a good friend of mine highly recommended Dr. Thorndill's Biology 110 class I decided to losten to her and register. I am sooo glad I did! Dr. Thorndill is very clear on the material

thorndill was a great teacher he gave exrta credit, you prepared you for every test he gave. he would handout a practice test very similar to the real test and the day after all the answers would be put on the board. For the labs he would have practice problems that he put up around the class to prepare you for the lab tests.

Really nice guy, tends to ramble on some times. He puts notes on the board, gives review guides, and tons of extra creit on quizes. The tests are a bit hard, but read the text and keep up with the labs, you'll do fine.

The man catches birds with his bare hands...need I say more? I knew nothing about biology before I took this class. Thorndill taught the material really well, threw in a couple stupid exam questions per test, but overall, challenged the class and made sure everyone learned. DEFINITELY recommend him!

I had to drop the class, he knows his stuff, but he does not know the meaning of "Intro" to Bio. I aced all my quizes and got tutored 1-2 times a week. Still, I could not pass his exams. He gives 4 of which = 100% of your grade. He covers too much at a fast pace and expects you to remember every detail. If you don't like science, don't take him.
