Professor Walsh was my favorite Humcore Seminar professor out of the three I had. If you want a good grade, she is more than happy to work with you and provide you essay feedback during office hours. Her website was SO organized and helped me A LOT. She's very kind and interested in her students. If you participate and do the work, you'll do great!

I think we had class discussion maybe like 3 times the entire quarter. She talked for the rest of seminar. Not a very open environment for discourse/debate, as the class is intended for. Straightforward rubric for grading. Not an easy grader but not impossible to pass. Overall straightforward class but nothing inspirational or thought-provoking.

Took her for hum core and although she is very sweat she is also a very hard grader. I did exactly as she advised on my papers yet I did not receive the grade I was working for.

Dr. Walsh is kind & understanding. She goes the whole nine yards to clarify lecture material & extends her office hours if needed. Midterm/Final are very straightforward. Grade earned is reflective of writing abilities (essays), Midterm/Final, participation, & effort put into class. Skills learned in class are very practical. Highly recommend.

Prof. Walsh was my favorite Humcore professor. She was very helpful and clearly went over relevant lecture material. When I was unable to meet for office hours, she responded to my emails about my essay drafts very quickly and gave me specific comments on the drafts. A very pleasant Humcore experience.

Definitely not a 4.7. Maybe her illnesses got the better of her, but overall, I did not find her that helpful. Her advice is often vague and yet she wants very specific wording in essays/exams. Very sweet lady though. Offers extra credit, too. But if you're busy, attending off. hours and extra credit opportunities may be difficult.

Walsh is really great and you would be lucky to have her as a HumCore professor. The only thing I didn't like is that she didn't give feedback on the first drafts of essays; you have to go to office hours for any feedback, otherwise it's all peer-editing. Gave lots of options to choose from for the midterm/final questions.

Very nice and helpful. Professor Walsh offers a lot of extra credit, so it wouldn't hurt to try even one or two of the extra credit now and then.

She was hard to follow at times but overall she was a very good Discussion leader. She offered a lot of extra credit and gave a lot of office hours, often staying much later than she intended. During office hours she does tend to take a lot of time with students so if you're third in line, make sure to bring a book. Great Teacher, do recommend.

She is very nice and helpful during office hours. Generous grader, and offers extra credit frequently. Her study guides however are pretty broad but her midterm and final are not super hard. She also tends to jump from one thing to another making her hard to follow at times but for the most part you'd be lucky to have her as a dl for humcore!

Very clear with discussing lecture info, easy to understand. Midterm and Final aren't easy but her study guides are enormously helpful- use them. Very particular with what she wants on essays so visit her in office hours if unsure. No busy work, very sweet and approachable. Super slow grader tho. Overall makes Hum Core interesting and less painful!

Very nice, very sweet, and very forgiving with many simple deviances. That doesn't make her midterms and papers any easier, though.

She's super nice and offers a lot of random extra credit opportunities. She keeps discussion sections fun and informative. The midterm and final aren't the easiest things in the world but she gives you a study guide and preps you very well. She also gives extensions on papers if you need it. I'd definitely recommend her. :)

She goes over works pretty well in discussion - it's what she tests on. However, expects a lot more of your own analysis / input - you'll just end up with a B or so. Make use of office hours when it comes to essays. She's particular but helps with what she wants on essays. Fair grader & cute personality but ended up being my most difficult HC DL.

She understands what she's teaching, and is very professional. She's helpful when it comes to writing, especially when developing a thesis. The biggest issue I have with her is the way she teaches in class. It feels like a second HUMCORE LECTURE. Other than that, she is helpful and easily accessible, whether by email or office hours.
