Five five-page papers due the last week. Absolutely no idea what he really wanted from us. Group project which is somewhat more clear. He rambles on for 2 hours in class. Anything written is also just rambling. We asked for a sheet to describe the five essays (in addition to the original assignment sheets) and it was just more rambling.

BORING! You get 5 papers all due the last week of class but he is so unclear on what he wants. There's a group presentation which isn't a biggie. He mumbles on and on but he's nice. He takes attendance but has no idea if you leave afterwards. If you need it take but if can be avoid try to!

CONS: 5 five page papers plus group presentation, long and boring lectures (puts you to sleep), lots of reading (we had 6-7 books). PROS: Attendance isn't mandatory at all, you learn a lot in his class in a specific way, no HWs quizzes tests, he is a very friendly professor who cracks hilarious jokes at times, not a tough grader.

Loved this class! Self & Other was a subject that applied to daily life, not just history. You get out of this class what you put into it. The papers are all due the final week, so you must pace yourself and keep up with the readings. The lectures were mostly about the Todorov book, and they were incredibly powerful on a moral level. Prof. Traboulay is very transparent, which I appreciate... It may sound corny, but this class made me a better person in terms of how I treat and think of others.

Traboulay is as boring as the day is long!!! He spends 6 weeks talking about the same book, and ripped apart the class for handing in bad papers, when he was not ver clear about what he wanted in it. Syllabus is a joke and his directions are limited. I have no choice but to tkae the class, but I fall asleep out of boredom in his class

There are 2 essays, plus an exam (essay questions) on one of the books read in class. So you have to read 3 books for the semester. Class is Ok, and Prof. is nice, but he is very boring. You'll fall asleep if you sit in the back. He is tough grader imo, so you have to have very good writing skills.

i had him earlier for HST 210 and he was easier then. but for this class, he got tougher on us. he's very knowledgable and totally pro-tibet. for this class, we had to read primary sources and read books that aren't an easy read. he's soft spoken and can put many to sleep including me. overall he's a good guy.

I had many history courses with Dr. Traboulay while pursuing my degree at COSI. Because of his class presentations and incredible ability to place his students into "history," I fell in love with the subject. I have a joint major in English and History. Dr. Traboulay encouraged me to obtain advanced degrees - I have a doctorate. I love him.

He is one of the best professor's ive had in csi. Very helpful and understanding. Class lectures might be boring if you dont keep up with the reading. He does give out a couple of papers but they are very easy if u read the books. the questions are clear and simple. just answer his questions and u will pass. he does not grade bad. he is very fair =
