He does not require you to attend class. All the tests were open book and open note. However attending class is more useful then the book. He makes up examples on the spot, typically versions of them are on the exams. Highly recommended class to take. Difficult but worth the time and effort.

Comment:
Best teacher I have ever had in college. He doesn't even require you to go to class but his lectures are so interesting and clear that it would be dumb not to go. Take him, you'll have to put some effort into this class, but you'll learn a lot. Every teacher should teach like this.

Absolutely brilliant professor. I think he has 3 doctorates and is also an M.D. Teaches the material well. Makes sure you pay attention to MINOR details in class. Tests are impossible. No one EVER finishes them in the allotted time. Curves the tests fortunately, but you still feel demoralized after leave because you only halfway finish.

Hard class but the most i've learned in any class thusfar. AMAZING teacher. His tests are hard and way too long for the time given to do them, but he's a really really smart man and cares if you learn the material. Enjoyed the class and would highly suggest him to take!

He takes forever to get your grades in this class too. He didn't even give our labs reports back! Pay attention during the lab so that you know whats going on, and make sure to ask questions if you don't. Keep reports written in the format he specifies. He does grade on grammer too.

This class is more organized. He gives out a lot have handouts that you should read. He verbally gives out "suggested" homework problems that you should try to do, and if you can't get them ask about them in class. If you can grasp what is going on in class the tests are quite doable. He curves and gives partial credit! :D

Classes are very unorganized. He doesn't like to grade papers, so he takes forever to give tests and quizzes back. He makes tests on the day of the test and sometimes they are to long to finish. However, he does know his stuff, he curves, and he likes it when people are involved in class and ask questions.

Be prepared to study. Questions on exams are very specific. Even smallest detail could appear on exams. Gives curve at the end of the year. Lectures are interesting and he tries to give examples that peak your interest. Not the hardest class you'll take, but probably the one with the most reading/memorizing.
