He was so confusing and unorganized. His powerpoint slides have way too much information and they're impossible to understand. He doesn't explain concepts, the homework assignments were unnecessarily hard and long, and the test questions were worded in a very confusing way. Don't take him.

The class requires more work that it seems because physics 10 is supposed to be a intro clas. The professor tends to read off of his powerpoints and is sometimes late to class (he was late to one of the midterms too). Weekly homework has 60 questions and covers materials from his powerpoint and the textbook which you have to read on your own time.

He does iclickers so you have to attend class. The class is super easy, he reads off the slides. He isn't the best lecturer and i can get bored in class, but reading the material at home I find it super interesting. he's a nice guy tho, real sweet. he's clearly passionate abt stars which is inspiring to me.

The class is irrelevant to the topic of physics. Most of the idea that we cover is some kind of topic that we found in biology, and other branches of science. The lecture is way to boring and hard to understand. The topic we cover is so broad that it is very pointless.

Maybe I'd be his friend but I would never be his student again. Terribly boring lecture, maybe because I'm a political science major, but he reads off the slides and does not do much more. Everyone in class is distracted. He uses iclicker so you HAVE to go to lecture. He's not a tough grader but the final screwed me over after two days of studying.

He is not my fav, and I gave him a five just b/c I don't think he deserves such a bad rating. Although he is not a good lecturer I think, he is really a nice professor. I think he explains things more clearly after class, and his class is really straightforward. Just finish homework and review his powerpoint. He also gave curves on exams.

The subject material is very broad, and the set-up for the class jumps around quite a bit. The lectures and the textbook line up with each other, but the supplemental material (which must be read to do the homework) feels random and off-topic. He lectures as though he has never seen his own power points before. It's overwhelming, honestly.

Lectures are uninteresting and hard to follow. He doesn't even know all the answers to his own clicker questions which makes lecture even more confusing and the homework is poorly written with typos which makes it harder than it should be. If there were another professor I would drop this class immediately.

OK professor. He doesn't make things very clear, but he is an ok lecturer. i-cliker needed in class. Participation of the class is taken into account. Fairly easy exams as long as you go through the slides, textbook and past hw questions. Two midterms, and only the better score is taken into account. All multiple-choice question.

One of the most boring professors I have ever had. Lectures are very unclear. Tests are mostly just repeat of homework and other old questions. Good luck trying to learn anything from this professor.

This professor is one of the smartest guys I have ever met but he does not know how to teach his class. He is not clear at all and he is so unorganized. He doesn't even write his own tests-- the TA does. Go to the TAs review sessions they are more helpful than going to all of the classes! But you have to go to class because clicker questions count!

It was often difficult to understand the concepts presented in class. The homework is due every week and is mostly, although not always, based on the power points. I would only recommend this course to someone who has taken a physics course before, or enjoys physics.

The only reason I went to class was for the clicker questions. The TA understood how to teach better than the professor did. The homework was due every week and based on the powerpoints which he updated but didn't always post new ones online...

This class has many interesting aspects to it. It was extremely easy if you go to lecture. Lecture is not mandatory but he uses the i-clicker. If you are taking this for a GE I recommend taking it P/NP. Definitely a GPA booster if you need it. Professor himself is passionate about astronomy and offers extra credit.

The comments below are a bit dated. He is a very passionate teacher who enjoys the stuff. Ppt slides are pretty comprehensible with lots of charts, pic. The concepts can be difficult. But with the slides, MCs practice, you are ok. My advice is to study before going to class (won't take too long!). The best part is he is super responsive in emails.

Okay, EASY teacher, EASY class. But Tytler loses at class mechanics. Lack of class control and a little too disorganized. But he posts everything online - powerpoints & questions - so you don't even have to go to lecture. Powerpoints seem to have been passed down from previous quarters - not really tailored to his lectures sometimes. Book useless.

Tytler is boring and not helpful. Although the class is a breeze, I would suggest taking a different physics since Tytler is simply a horrible professor. He is kind superficially, and not caring!

very knowledgeable, but seriously incredibly boring. homework is online due about every week. powerpoints online too. Answers emails pretty quickly. pretty well acquainted w/ technology in general math is a little complicated (in my opinion, at least). P/NP is an excellent idea.

BORING!!! This class was horrible, I didn't learn a thing. If you are only taking his class for a GE, TAKE THE CLASS PASS/NO PASS!!! Best decision of my life. Tons of hw, lectures don't make sense, waste of time really.
