Steve Mccan is a super cool dude, not much of a teacher. Very knowledgable but doesn't really show it. He has mediocre "personal trainers" (in training) who didn't show up half the time and lacked direction. Was a waste of my time. The first two months of the class were core training which was worthless. Made promises to the class he didn't keep.

Steve Mccan is a great person and I hear he is a great teacher for karate/kickboxing but core training was a waste of my time we spent the first month doing the same exact things. We didn't start exercising until 2 classes in, we had this mediocre trainers(in training) they didn't show up half the time and lacked direction. Was a waste of my time

He's the best for teaching martial arts like karate. I enjoyed the class, and it was super fun. He's really knowledged about the traditional karate techniques. Take him! You're gonna like the class :D

This class will seriously kick your butt, but is so much fun. You learn a lot of the history of Japanese Karate and learn how much respect matters. Mccann cares a lot about his students, and is there to help so use him. Show up and you'll pass. Note: Self Defense is a part of the karate program, this class is merged with karate 1-3.

I was sick often and Steve was very understanding, as long as you email him letting him know the situation. I always made a point to talk to him after class. He is VERY big on respect, and he made my love for karate flourish. There is a written final at the end of the year, if you're taking the course for a grade.

He is very nice. He hates it when you talk when he is talking. He likes it when you actually try! effort means everything. If you don't show up to class he will drop you or lower your grade.But its an easy and fun class, not hard at all if you put effort.you need to BUY gloves & shin guards(about $60-$80)if you are really lazy i don't recommendhaha

Hes a very good instructor.Prior to attending his karate and his kickboxing class i had little interest in martial arts. Steve took the time and interest to teach me the best he could. his material goes byond stand up fighting, he also teaches you about grappling and submission holds.He pretty much gives you the best training for the price you pay

I took martial arts before this class and hated the instructor. Steve McCann made me fall in love with Karate. He made me want to practice outside of class and push myself. I LOVE THIS CLASS! I am sad i can only take it four times, everyone should want to take one of his classes!
