I was taking this class over the SUMMER, TWICE a week, for 3.5 HOURS each class, so I hated this class before it even started. Then I met Vampola and that changed everything, he is awesome!! You can tell that he cares about his students and enjoys what he does. Definitely one of my favorite teachers!!

Comment:

Had him for both COG 166 and ISC 405. Super nice professor, always telling jokes about being older than dirt and finding ways to relate the subject to real world issues. ISC 405 had 3 short 10 minute assignments, and 2 10-15 page take-home paper exams that basically just asked you to explain what was given in the notes and apply it.

Great guy and SUPER smart, pretty funny too. If you don't know much about cognitive science though his class can be pretty tough. Only graded on 3 assignments and 3 tests, and the final is worth 40% of your grade and is cumulative so if you don't do well on the final you won't do well in the class. Other than that he's a great prof!

Great guy who is a little on the odd side. Class is all talking about the theory of information systems rather than actually doing anything with computers. Highly recommend taking it with him, 2 short easy assignments and a midterm and final that is all writing but fairly easy. Take notes during class so you know what to study for the tests.

He is a gift from god. At first you probably think he is crazy, but he will grow on you. Hands down the smartest person I know. He is amazing and he is always willing to explain course content. I honestly wish he was my professor for every class.

Vampola is probably the smartest person I've ever met. He's a great professor who pushes you to think about things differently. The class discussion was great, and the topics were engaging. His definition of a short paper is like, 8 pages, so just keep that in mind. But he'll help you through it all. He was my thesis advisor too and that went well.

Vampola is one of the best professors at Oswego. He is always willing to help, and is a fairly easy grader. He is so funny!! There are only a handful of tests and homeworks, so thats a plus! Easily my favorite class and professor at Oswego!

Prof Vampola is the smartest, most engaging, and most passionate professor I've ever met. He possesses very solid knowledge of a range of subjects, something that is evident to anyone who talks to him. He engages students and helps anyone with issues without complaint or any sign of inconvenience. He is the epitome of what a professor should be.

Best teacher I have had at Oswego. Got me interested in information science and helped me declare my major just a couple weeks ago. He is very corny but thats what makes you like him.
