Dr. Vawter is one of my favorite professors! He makes class fun and engaging. His lectures are personal and inspiring. He really has a passion for teaching and that's evident in how he teaches. If you need to take EDCO 350, make sure you take Dr. Vawter. Also, say hi to him if you see him around campus:)

Dr. Vawter is hands down the best professor I've had at Winthrop. I learned so much about how to be empathetic and love my future students in so many ways. He prepares you so much for the future. He believes in second chances and is incredibly forgiving. I'm registering for another class of his later this week.

HMXP with him was a blast. Only assignments were a few essays, other than that we had awesome class discussions. Would recommend to take him for any class!

While Dr Vawter is a great teacher, he is very against women wearing dress pants instead of skirts or dresses. I don't own dresses or skirts, which lead to arguments between us before field experience on some mornings. He makes class fun and interesting, but my experience with him not wanting me to wear dress pants ruined my experience with him.

I had Coach Vawter for HMXP, and it was a very easy class. All we did is read for homework, talk about the readings in class, and write a few papers. He is very easy to get along with. But, although this class was supposed to be about us learning more about ourselves, he was not very neutral in his discussions. It was very easy to see his views.

Dr. V is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is truly an inspiring man and I feel honored to have been able to take his class. He is the type to only really like someone when they are being themselves and he taught us a lot about leadership. He is obvious about his believes but prat of leadership is standing for what you believe in.

He was my adviser when I was a masters student at WU. I was a 4.0 student and aced his class. When I asked him for a letter of recommendation for a doctoral program, he asked me to write it and then have him sign it. What a let down!!! Such poor form on his part.
