Awesome teacher!! I had him for 2D, Drawing 1 and I have him for Drawing 2 now.. Great guy and overall an amazing professor. He knows his art and he can be tough at times but he is very clear and straight forward with his assignments. Would take him again!

Everyone I know loved him. But he really made me feel stupid a lot by laughing at my work. His assignments were easy concepts and I didn't learn much from his class, honestly. Most of the time he's really nice though and will try his best to help.

DP is one of my favorite teachers thus far. I specifically requested him for drawing 2 after having him in drawing 1. He may seem a bit crazy, but will help you turn from someone who cant draw, to someone who can and has very good potential and portfolio work. Helps you with your own style and techniques. I would take him again any day.

DP is by far one of the best teachers i have ever had. I took him for every class that I could. He understands that no everyone is a drawing major and as long as he sees that your trying he is very helpful and nice. but he really hates people that don't care about the class and will be very blunt in crits if he see's that your not trying

He is such a fun professor! all of his classes were laid back and he always had awesome stories from his college days to talk about. I loved this class!! He made it so fun to learn. Really easy going guy,you'll have about 2 out of class drawings to do every 3 or so weeks but he gives you a lot of freedom to do what you want.

It's really hit or miss with DP. Some people love him, some people hate him. He's a pretty chill guy, but he can be frustrating to talk to if you don't have similar taste in art. Either way, I did one of my assignments 30 minutes before class and got a B on it, so it's easy work. If you want to learn something, it's up to you to try hard.

A lot of students don't take this guy seriously probably because they themselves aren't serious enough about art. But if you are serious about art and you show him your work with bold questions to ask then he will aid you with powerful insight on how to go further with your ideas. I recommend him!

Great man, he seriously understands what needs to be done for you to be an artist! He pushes you to try things that you've never even thought of before. He'll always listen to you and just chat with you if you want to. He sometimes leaves class a lot, but he really does know what he's talking about. I've grown so much thanks to DP!

I had expected to learn something in this class, however, I was sorely disappointed. He just tells you to draw, and leaves the room. Classes amount to nothing, just free work period after free work period. If you want to better yourself as an artist, rather than an "artist," I would advise against taking him. Light workload, poor attendance = okay!

D.P. is so cool. I really feel that we ARE learning valuable lessons by being told to draw whatever we want to, and working them out. We are faced with the challenges of making our drawings unique and expressive, and I think that is worth more than still life, still life, still life.

This man is the lazyiest person I have ever encountered. Not only does he not teach anything, but he talks FOREVER about nothing. DO NOT take him if you want to be a better drawer or if you want to not be confued. Not a hard workload, but its almost easier to have more work and know what you are supose to be doing

DP is great if you already know how to paint, he pushes you to really do what you want and to be creative. he's also good if you arent looking forward to painting (and in painting1), because he kind of lets you do whatever. i wouldnt take him for painting 1 if you wanted to learn technique or anything, but past that hes great and like all painting instructors at EUP, is loaded with talent.
