Just don?t ever take any classes by him. He is absolutely useless not interested in helping anyone and don't bother trying to write according to his method, even though he tries to shove it down your throat as the only way, he doesn?t even mark the exams or any of the papers. This is the most horrible teacher ive ever had in my life. he is extremely unorganized, always sick for class. throughout the whole semester he missed 8 classes. on the final exam, he was 1 hour late (like always). his lectures are horrifying, he doesnt even talk about what were learning. he goes on and on about nothing. i swear, just horrible

He barely showed up to class, and when he did, I counted ONCE that he was on time. Incomprehensible, unorganized, easy marker though. If you want to learn, go elsewhere. If you want to write a couple essays and a final and get a B and never attend a class, easy credits. Has a good heart, just can't teach. At all.

The class itself was useless. Didn't cover any useful material, *always* went off topic, spoke to only a couple select students and ignored the rest. He is a nice person, but I give him an F as a professor. Easy credit, but if you want to learn something don't take it.

Honestly... I don't recomend this course (at least with David) to anyone. Prof is extremely unorganized, has missed 7 classes so far - we're at week 11. Prof often wanders FAR off topic for nearly the entire class. Complete waste of time even when he does show to class... the midterm has been pushed back several times (2 weeks from the final!?)

Unfortunately a very disorganized class, but seems to be a very kind man. Class is cancelled often due to his sickness. If you need the help and actually ask, he explains very well, but if you dont ask, expect to be confused. Anyone can probably get away with getting a pretty good grade in this class since there's barely any cirriculum.

I think Dr. West has a good heart and he cares about students. Some people might not agree with me, but I really think he is a good teacher. Since he is sick, he cancel many classes; however, whenever he cancel, he will extend the deadline for students so that it will be fair for them.

awful teacher- didn't show up to class four times. THATS eight HRS OF CLASS THAT HE DIDNT MAKE UP. Ugh. Horrible teacher, doesn't teach. Don't even bother following the syllibus, we're already three weeks behind.

I won't argue that he's a bit of an oddball. West is extremely intelligent and well spoken, and I find him to be quite interesting. He chooses excellent material to cover in class, and his lectures are very thought provoking. Immature students who don't have an interest in literature will hate him, you guys can have fun getting a C.

Prof West an very aimable teacher, but is somtimes unprepared. His classes are enjoyable, and it isnt hard to get a good mark. If you are a student that needs to be sweated and needs ridged structure in a classroom DONT take West. If you dont mind a more relaxed environment, and need a GPA boost West is a good choice (at least for ENG 109)
