He's really funny and engaging! Don't take his class if you get easily offended. He will joke and make fun of people in the class but it's all in good humor. He is really particular about grammar, so make sure your English skills are up-to-date :)

Dr. Dave will go down in history as the best professor GMU has to offer. Be prepared to learn and take his class seriously if you want to walk away a much better writer. Buy his book. You'll use it often. Fantastic professor, funny, informative, and brilliant. Don't say just!

I really wanted to drop this class at the beginning of the semester, but I'm glad I didn't. Dr. Dave can be very boring, but he can also be very blunt and even offensive at times, which makes class interesting and funny. You will actually learn something from this man, but will have to work hard for an A. Don't say "just"!!!

Wise, humble, and engaging. Dr. Dave was my favorite professor at Mason. I am a much better writer for taking his course. Take Dr. Dave if you're looking to learn something.

Dr. Dave is an outside the box thinker and it is brilliant. He talks of snobs and slobs in writing and he gives real life examples where being a slob has cost people dearly. he exemplifies how important written communication is, and how much improvement our generation needs, and he is right!!! Brilliant teacher will take again

Dr Williams is an interesting teacher. You will mostly just sit in the class and listen to him, and then have quizzes and readings. Not a bad teacher, but hes eccentric.

Excellent professor. I would take any class he teaches. Entertaining, sense of humor is impeccable. Very clear about class expectations. Challenges students to actually think beyond established boundaries, he really changed the way I thought and I approach papers differently now. Extremely helpful, willing to work with students. He's the best.

Prof williams is not that bad of a professor. The topic is interesting if you like learning about the 60s. I wasn't very interested but the topics were relatively interesting. You need a lot of books for his class and there are 4 papers and a final. His clarity about his assignments aren't that good.

I dropped his class because he is impossible to understand. in one word he is a: hippie. someone thats stuck in the 80's and hes eccentric but weird..unless you like oddballs avoid his classes and your grammer needs to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT or just give up -_-

His class is different than most classes. He is a grammer fanatic, likes cartoons, and uses a lot of examples to show what he likes and doesn't in papers/the media. His class is not too hard, but he does not explain guidelines for papers, so it is up to you to figure out which can have bad outcomes. He refers to Hitler A LOT too...dissapointing

He is a little off his rocker in an entertaining if sometimes annoying way. The worst part about the class is the lack of clarity regarding expectations. He does not give clear expectations for assignments, and my grades suffered due to that.

Dr. Dave expects a lot from his students' writing. He's a Harvard alum and is definitely one of the highest quality professors I've had so far. Class tends to be very interesting and not always politically correct, which is a good break from Mason's constant diversity happy faces. Just show up to class and listen to what he wants in the papers.

He expects you to do the readings and come to class but he doesn't force you to do so. If you are looking for a class where you show up, sit, write a couple essays and leave, you will pass. But, to get an A in his class, you have to be willing to think and take risks with your writing. He's a little crazy but give great lectures.

Dr. Dave's class was always interesting. Every day he had a new story to tell. Not very clear on what he want included in the papers though, which makes it a little difficult. Class gives an interesting view on the world in the social science section. Oh, and NEVER use the word JUST.

He will have jokes and interesting stories to share, to make class fun. I think he got the students laughing at every class! He's laid-back and nice. But his grading is tough!! And there are too many assignments. But overall, it was an interesting class.

He weirded me out in the first week of class. I wanted to drop his class but I stuck with it. Let's just say I am glad I didn't. There was only a hand full of professor that really opened up my mind and Dr. Dave was one of them. The class was clever to say the least. It was easy, fair, and informative. What more could you ask for?

professor is very vague on what he wanta you to do for his assignments. when asked a question, he replies with another question, and never really answers the students question. the reading for the class was all in old english, and mostly from the 1500's & 1600's. would not recomend this class for those who english is not a first language.

He is one of Mason's finest and unique professors. I would highly recommend his class, as long as you can attend class and TRY on your papers. I also think he is a nice guy who makes his students interact so that the class room is not dull. Even though he is a Harvard alumnus, he is not condescending at all, but rather a great listener.

He is horrible. I totally regret taking this class. He rants on about his degrees from Harvard, and it gets old fast. I would not recommend him for anyone. He is the worst English professor I have had in my career.
