Great professor. Willing to work with you as much as needed. Very hard subject, but I learned quite a bit. The ones who complained in the class didn't put in the work needed, but if you did it was rewarding. Options for extra credit available, too.

He is a great teacher. But that is all there is to it. Impossible quizzes and tests that make you want to cry. Everyone fails this class on a standard grading scale. It seems Workman's grading scale is 30-60 is B so most people get a B. Again Great teacher you will learn lots, but cry after every quiz and test because you got under a 40.

Worst prof I've ever had. Terrible subject matter, drones on and on reading from his powerpoints. Completely out of touch with modern developments. Avoid at all costs!

Comment:
This class was primarily a feature expo for powerpoint. I never imagined this many slides existed in all the world. Subject matter makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Projects are very long and require a LOT of work, so don't take it with hard classes (my mistake). Extremely fair on turning in assignments though. Good prof, lame subject.

The class was awful. Nothing was explained. Tests were way to long for a 50min class.

Lots and lots of work. Grades very hard. The final project is huge. He grades on a curve because he is lazy.

I'm a senior and about to graduate and this professor made my life a living hell. Culmination of all the bad profs I've had over the years in one. Jibbrish lectures of endless diagrams and useless information(and I knew C++ prior to the class). Give impossible assignments, 5 page "quizzes", impossible exams. HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Comment:
Concepts were explained almost entirely in mathematical notation which easily hid many of the important details (and I'm a math minor). Countless lectures were dedicated to material that we weren't required to know while material we needed to know was breezed over. The TA, Robert Lee, saved me without him the class would have been quite difficult.

Teaching style is terrible (he reads powerpoint notes to the class). Tests are stupid -- I did fine on them but it was obvious he was trying to annoy you (vague, 1 hour to take a 2 hour long test, etc.) You can learn more on this subject through the internet than you will in his class. Avoid him.

I learned nothing. Lectures were off topic and assignments were impossible given the amount of information presented. Exams were impossible and none of the test material was covered in class. Average test score was 20/100. Somehow I got a B in this course although I failed all tests. Baffling.

This guy is insane, his teaching methods make no sense, and his study guide for the final was just all of his powerpoint notes put together. Completely useless.

If you get him for discrete he is a good teacher. Though it's hard to pay attention and the tests are the hardest I've ever taken. You will learn a lot, but probably not get a good grade.

IGNORE WORKMAN LIKE THE PLAGUE! This guy is by far the worst teacher I have ever taken or even heard of. He basicly gave us programs that were impossible and his tests are on things no where near what he teaches.

Crap. Teaches design and tests code. Uses a book which talks at great length about what a CPU is and then throws in a random block of Java with no explanation. Don't take this class....EVER. I don't care if someone has a gun to your head, don't take.
