In the beginning, when I put a lot of time and effort into the class, and knew the material fairly well, I had a B-. Throughout the semester, my grade dropped. I got the lowest test score I have ever received and ended up with a D in the class. I was a straight A student in high school with a 36 on the math section of the ACT.

Took independent study. Was able to learn material. There is no contact with professor, but can call math lab for help. There are questions on exams that were nowhere in the homework, even two on the final that were from a section that the course did not cover. You pay the same tuition for independent study but get no hep from the prof.

Dr. Wright worked hard to provide students with every opportunity to learn. I strongly recommend reading chapters ahead of time so you can benefit more from the lecture. He frequently goes over homework problems, so that also helped a lot.

341 is not easy at all. But Dr. Wright made it as easy as it could be. He gives study guides and practice tests that just by memorizing you can get over a 70% on any test, even if you don't understand ANYTHING. He helped me many times outside of his office hours. This is one of the professors who really wants to do well on the class.

I took a college Algebra class by this professor online and was extremely surprised by the level of inconsistency between the homework and online work and what was given on the exams, do not expect any help from the professor either if you are taking this class online. The 4 exams had equations that were vaguely explained or weren't at all.

I took his College Algebra class online through the independent study. It was so hard. The homework was impossible. I ultimately dropped the class. It is a waste of money and time. Don't even think of taking this class. Worst class ever!

Prof. Wright is an incredible teacher who was able to make the boring and confusing proofs and theorems fun and exciting. He loves helping with the homework questions, usually spending half the time going over the homework which is due at the end of the day. I was always excited to go to class and be enlightened.

I had him for math 553. He knows topology like the back of his hand. He teaches this for a reason. Lectures can be a bit dry some days. The homework was challenging, but not usually too time consuming. Tests were reasonable. Nice class. Definitely worth taking.

I took this class independent study. The homework and exercises were much different than the midterm and final material. I could get no help or response from Wright. Worst class I ever took.

Dr. Wright has some great teaching methods (ask for him to bring part of the hyperbolic plane to class...trust me). He is very mindful that students are learning the material for the first time, and adds appropriate comments. Math classes are no cakewalk, but he makes as easy as it can be.

My favorite math professor ever! He obviously cares a lot about both the students and the subject. Holds plenty of review sessions. Answers any questions on homework you have. Homework/tests are difficult, but he helps so you do well on them anyway. Super down to earth, too. I'm positive any negative reviews are really about hating math, not him.

Dr. Wright obviously cares about his students. He allots adequate time for answering questions during class, and he composes thorough study guides for each test.

Dr. Wright is always very clear when teaching and I never heard a lecture where I was absolutely lost afterwards. All the homework and tests are from the department. However, Dr. Wright would spend extra time on Mondays going over some of the harder problems with us. I really enjoyed Dr. Wright and encourage anyone to take his class.

He's a great professor. He frequently goes over homework. His most striking feature to me is his clarity. He can make the most confusing things seem very easy. He gives a LOT of homework, and the tests are difficult, but his classes got, on average, higher scores than the average (every 113 teacher gives the same test). I was very happy with him.

good teacher...Basically it's all bookwork. The Stewart Calculus Book is amazing and should be your best friend. He gives additional reviews before tests and is willing to accept test corrections on bad tests for a percentage grade change. In class he does the examples from the book.

Great teacher, extremely difficult class. That's what you should expect though. Wright is very good at explaining concepts, and uses good examples. He does a very good job of preparing for the tests, and does review sessions for students for the tests outside of class. This is much better than having a review session with TAs.

Prof Wright's classes were WAY too big; over 150 in this class. The course covers lots of material and is flat out tough. His tests are hard, but they prepare you well for the final and I didn't do too well on them but still received an A- in the course because your final grade is highly based upon a department final for which he prepares you well.

He teaches the concepts, but I felt that grading was horrible and no matter what we learned, it was never good enough for the exam. Instead of doing example problems, we would just derive things and prove theorems, which are in the book anyways. He was an okay professor, but mainly for those really good at math. I mean 4.0 students.

Dr. Wright is not a typical Math teacher. I personally did not learn anything from his class really. He is difficult to follow, and the class sizes are MUCH too large for him to teach. If you are learning math, especially if you are struggling in Calculus, I'd recommend a different teacher, and preferably a much smaller class size! Ta was good tho
