I had to take another history credit and this was the only one that fit my schedule. I skipped half the time because I had other things to do that took precedent. He never uses any powerpoints or anything, the books you have quizzes on are completely unrelated to topics (imho) but its a super easy class if you study a few days before the tests.

His 255 He is not very helpful. He does use videos. His lectures are informative but he only half writes what he wants on the board and it is not legible making note taking very difficult. He does not give study guides so you have no idea what to study for on the test. Would not take him again or recommend him.

Dr. Wright is a great professor! His tests are cumulative which makes the class tough, but his lectures are interesting and keep your attention. As long as you take good notes, do the required readings and show up to the class, you will be fine!! I would definitely recommend him for a history class.

The worst professor I've ever encountered at this University. Tests are on 10 -20 chapters and not a lot of questions so if you get any wrong you're probably failing. Wish I could go back and not take this class. Completely rude personality. Took another history and got an A.

Boring lectures, only has 3 tests (which are all cumulative), terrible at explaining. He is very kind but his tests are ridiculous, there is too much information put on one test, 10 chapters the first test, 20 chapters the second, then the final is all 30 chapters. Do not take this class

Cool speaking style and ponytail give him a cultural vibe that not many other professors have at MU. I enjoy his depth of knowledge and his take on pop culture. He cannot figure out technology sometimes, and he is a tough grader, but expect that from some professors. I would recommend him to all history and non-history majors alike.

Wright was as monotoned as they come, he breezed through chapters and years so quickly that no one in the class knew what was going on. If you take Wright, you teach yourseld. For HIS 102 I took a different professor, and have an A..

I had him for western civ 1 and would take him in a heartbeat. his class is like a standard college class. if you don't show up or dont come in for a test, its your fault if you fail not his. If you pay attention in class, take good notes, listen to him, and go extra help before tests, you are garunteed an A or B. loves what he does

Never met a prof more self-centered than Wright. He was certain to tell us on the first day to strive for a "C" because that will be the highest grade in his class.

Took Wright for a writing course, and he was very helpful. But his seminar course was my least favorite as Miseri. Dr. Fries was the best professor here, hands down!

Some may find him boring, but I did not. I thought that his tests were easy, but I will agree that he is a difficult essay grader. Final IS cumulative (18 chapters + a book), and while it wasn't that dificult, you need to set aside many hours to study. Other than that, the class was not bad at all. Good teacher, good man, recommend.

great professor. great course. knows his stuff, guides conversation well, very intelligent and enjoyable to listen to. (and jesus christ just shut up about the hair, it's awesome. also, he's actually cooler than 95% of the kids that go here)--pay attention, do your work, LEARN A LOT.

He's pretty funny and he knows his stuff, but his tests are difficult at times. The multiple choice is needlessly tricky and he's a very difficult essay grader. The matching helps boost test grades at least. Final is cumulative so it would help if he'd let us see our old tests to study in class like O'Neill does, but he doesn't do that. He should.

Tests aren't too hard. I think he picks favorites, though. If he doesn't agree with your interpretation of something, its likely to be wrong in his eyes! Boring class.
