Her tests are fair and the content is very well presented and organised. The contents of her tests were clearly identified beforehand so there were no surprises on the tests. She is super helpful when it comes to accommodating students who need tests rescheduled.

she is very good at teaching, you will understand 100% of the concepts if you come to class, but still you should do the practice questions so you get used to the ideas for the exam. she is very clear about what she expects from you. she's also very approachable for extra help.

Comment:

Hands down the best Accounting professor at Asper. She makes complicated accounting theories very easy to understand. Her tests are fair, you go in fully understanding what is expected with her detailed exam outlines. Take all your accounting courses with Debbie if you can, highly recommended!

Comment:

Prof Mortimer makes the course clear as it can be. Obviously it is a challenging course, but if you put in some out of class effort and attend class, you will walk away with a BB+. If you put in a lot of effort you can get an A. She explains the materials well and her classes and enjoyable. Would recommend.

This class seems easy, even the sample exams don't seem very difficult, but both the midterm and final are very challenging. I studied for hours and hours, redoing practice problems and I still felt lost when writing the exams. Plus there's group work which is relatively easy, just inconvenient to try and get together with 6 people.

Nothing absolutely incredibly about her, nothing horrible either. Class overall has a lot of material so be sure to practice. She is very willing to help her students learn and pass and gives away some easier marks through group work and cases. Exams are on the hard side due to the amount of information and overall level of work load. Do your work.

Course was more like distance ed. material is online so going to class is extra (go for bonus marks). exams had no tricks. I wish she shared more stories in class since she is an FCGA. Good prof for this class, assets, equities just not for auditing or theory since she's not talkative/ energetic enough.

Really content-heavy course. 1st midterm was Fin Acc review. 2nd one was REALLY hard. Final was pretty straightfoward. She explains concepts in class well and does a lot of questions which help a lot. Very helpful outside of class. Lectures are a snoozefest though. Overall she's an excellent prof but definitely one of the harder accounting courses.

Best accounting prof I've had in Asper to date. very fair on tests although you must prepare for them. They don't have any of the tricks that are found in Pai's exams. Also, provides practice exams that are very helpful. will take her for theory and advance acc if possible

Debbie is very organized and throughly goes through examples pretaining to the chapter. However her tests are quite difficult. There are tricks in there, and I would advise that you do the practice problems when assigned, rather than leave them to a week or less before the test. Is available outside of class and responds to emails prompty.

The course is challenging but managebable if you keep up with the nightly homework. Debbie does plenty of examples in class and is always willing to help outside of class. Her lectures are clear and predictable. Exams are challenging but not ridiculous. Take advantage of the optional quiz marks and try to participate in class.

She is a good prof. Her explanations are clear, and she is helpful if you ask for help. She is a little dry but is much better than other profs teaching managerial accounting.
