Such an awesome professor. Not a walk in the park, might I add, but she makes every effort to make you feel more like a person in her class. She even would let the class take a 10 min break every session so that I (seriously) could have a smoke break. I love this woman!

Very good teacher! If you get her for Philosophy you're pretty lucky. Ethics is fairly hard to understand but she really gets the information across to you in an understandable way. She's very open to asking questions at office hours and I highly recommend that to better understand the material and so she knows who you are. It's fairly easy as well

Whittaker was freakin' awesome. You can tell she really cares about her students. Philosophy has always been extremely hard for me, but she did a good job of explaining ethics. If you go to class and read the book, this class will be a breeze.

Very nice and enthusiastic person, Very relaxed and highly recommended for non philosophy majors, yet I still feel I learned alot. For intro to ethics, you can probably pass without book, taking good notes. But it's unlikely you can get an A without it.

This is one of my favorite classes I have taken so far. She is so down to earth and friendly. She comes to class every day with a cheerful attitude. I highly recommend her class. 3 midterms, a couple of easy assignments, and easy quizzes.I've taken phil 170 with another professor, but he was horrible! This class made me like phil again. =)

Debbie's class is the only class I look forward to! She's straightforward, funny, and always willing to listen to what you have to say. Attendance is not mandatory (no role call) but if you miss class you miss out on the discussions that help you remember the material that's being covered. Take her if you need a critical thinking class!

She's worst phiolosopher! She grew up in Long Beach, graduated with BA & MA in CSULB. She acted like she knows everything where I can see that she didnt even travel or see what's out there. She will persuade u to believe her & shes not that smart. Dont go for her if you want a real philosopher. Want an easy A with fake philosopher? Take her then.

Debbie is an AMAZING professor! Her classes are just incredible! Also, the chill pepper is well deserved; That grainy picture up top does her absolutely no justice! Her classes are so much fun that you look forward to them all week. TAKE ANY CLASS OF HER'S THAT YOU CAN!!

This woman is fabulous. She was personable, helpful, and fun. I thouroughly enjoyed the class and don't think it would have been nearly as good without her. She acted mainly as a moderator and let us decide how to proceed and which topics to explore further. By far my favorite class and philosophy professor.

i took her over winter break- best professor i have ever had! you have to study but she is an awesome professor and person. her attitude and great sense of humor makes the class go by so much faster. i recommend taking her class!
