I've never seen a professor who teaches with her heart more than Prof. Paterniti. Not only does she teach social research methods, but also mindfulness which actually improved my quality of life. An amazing professor! Do the readings and really focus on those study guides, and you'll do great!

I took her at SSU and she really is one of the best professors that I have had. She is a little tough but teaches you everything you need to learn. She gives you a study guide that she makes the test from. You can tell that she really loves teaching this subject and I would defiantly take another class from her she is a great professor.

A wonderful professor! She is very clear during her lectures and kept them interesting. Also, the tests are very fair. She gives a study guide for each one and all the short answer and essay questions come straight from them. Run your study guide answers by her or the TA if in doubt and you will do great on every test.

The Pros: Very nice teacher. She is funny and approachable. She is willing to help and wants to be the best teacher she can. The Cons: Tests are graded very harshly, multiple choice is random, there are 2-3 short answers, 1 essay question. Tests are cumulative. Material seems easy but then the teacher expects so much out your test answers.

Prof. Paterniti is a great professor! I rarely use this site but had to because she is fantastic. She is very clear and great in office hours. The assignments and tests are difficult just because of the grading and specificity and the doth of the material. If this is a required class, I'd recommend Paterniti!

Deb Paterniti is the best professor, hands down, that I have encountered in the department. She is very well read, very open minded, gets the hardest material accross in a very clear manner. She is also very dedicated to her students, is willing to work with you, and is so encouraging of students, both with class material and other stuff. RECOMMEND

Debora was easily one of the best professors I've ever had at UCD. She knows the material inside and out and her lectures definitely reflect that. Her class wasn't easy, there was a lot of reading and writing, but if you can stick with it it's definitely worth it. She really makes the effort to help you and wants you to do well in her class.

Clearly, the woman has a clear grasp on the material - extremely intelligent and learned. HOWEVER, as a teacher, I - personally - would have to say that this class with this professor is the worst possible course I've ever taken. COMPLETE waste of my time - and I'm a graduating senior - I KNOW.
