Great Prof. I wish he could teach some more courses at McGill because I thoroughly have enjoyed his 272 class. It is not an easy class, with lots of content to memorize although it's worth taking. Assignments are difficult but less so if you work in groups, and midterms are very fair. Plus as of 2017, No Final!

Widely regarded as a bird course, but I have to disagree. The assignments were extremely time-consuming and you're required to memorize a ton of information. Exams aren't cumulative thankfully and he's a really awesome prof in terms of enthusiasm and knowledge. He rambles and talks quickly, but what you need to know is posted in the slides.

I took this as an elective and easily got an A. His slides are extremely clear and his exams are fair to pretty much any kind of test taker. Hilarious guy, really spunky and badass.

Pollard is very enthusiastic about his field and it shows. He is also very knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. Doesn't believe in testing you on the same thing twice so exams are not cumulative. No text book to buy. I honestly had no interest in this class but got an A because of Pollard.

I studied with Wayne over 5 years ago, now. I still remember him as my favorite teacher of any kind, at any level of education. I took a LOT of permafrost-related course, including a 500 level with him, and they were always fantastic and interesting. GO ON HIS FIELD COURSE TO SCHEFFERVILLE!!! you will not regret it!

Prof Pollard is one of the best profs at McGill. The material in this class is interesting, but prof pollard makes it much more entertaining! He's hilarious, helpful, his lectures are very clear, and his slides really have everything you need to know. Assignments can be long and tedious but they keep you up to date on what's going on in class.

Great prof, very organized lectures, posts them on webct, only need textbook if you want more information. Does talk a lot but is so passionate about geog that it rubs of on you. Really funny/nice/helpful + good TAs. Assignmnents hard but marked fairly. Midterm/final - just know his presentations and you're good.

He really enjoys what he is teaching and the class trip is fun, but the material in his section is boring. He gets off an too many tangents. He is fair in his marking.

Yes, Wayne talks a lot and his pacing can be nausiating at times, but that's only because he loves what he teaches so much. His assignments are long but fairly easy and marking is more than fair. If he's in the building, his door is open even outside office hours. Good job!

I hope I pass this class but better yet I hope Pollard takes an adult ed. english class and passes.. come on guy..learn how to spell! Maybe you should give assignments that undergrads can actually complete without having a nervous breakdown.
