Overall easy class and nice professor. She allows for plenty of extra credit and explains very clearly what will be on the exam. As long as you study a bit you'll be fine.

Professor Ellithorpe is not a bad option for a calc professor and is probably the best in applied calc. I failed the first test and ended up getting a tutor to get an A because she wasn't too helpful.

Comment:

Very knowledgeable professor. Gives very good notes, and tests and quizzes are similar to problems from the notes. If you know how to do the notes, then you will do well on the tests. Also, there is lots of bonus on the tests.

Professor Ellithorpe is wonderful. She explains things really well during lecture and gives good feedback on quizzes and exams. She'll even tell you the type of questions to expect beforehand. If you need help on any homework, you can email her and she'll respond pretty quickly. Her exams are lengthy and will count for most of your grade though.

After failing the first test, I was really worried. Though, I ended up with an A after seeking help from her. Tip: Print out the notes, that way you don't have to write super fast. I absolutely loved Professor Ellithorpe. Super talented, caring, and lots of extra credit. Made 8 AM class enjoyable. An absolute pleasure!! The best of the best!

Professor Ellithorpe has been quite a surprise. She is so nice and will sit with you and go over it. She is pretty much the classic southern belle. She does pass back quizzes in a folder and everyone can see your grade, but it makes it easier to find the kids to study with as well. Overall, I love her teaching style and she is great!

Take her for any math class you have. She explains things well and can elaborate more if you talk to her after class. Super helpful. Gives credit where she can. Just don't slack on work and underestimate the class and you'll get an easy A. She tells you exactly what is going to be on the test and quizzes. Questions are basically the same.

Amazing professor. Tests and quizzes are exactly like the examples and similar to the homework problems on mymathlab. Explains things well and even better if you go to her for a couple minutes after class to clarify. Very knowledgeable about the what she teaches. If you come you class she sometimes gives extra points for the next test. Don't skip.

She said she wouldn't round grades and she rounded mine at the end. She is willing to help you succeed if you put in the effort. You have to keep up with assignments, you have a lot of time to finish them. She understands you have other courses and she is clear about what is on tests

If you go to class you will do well in class. She is very clear in explanations and will answer all questions until student's uncertainty is cleared. Very accessible outside of class. Gives practice tests and everything in the practice is just like test.

Professor Ellithorpe can be fairly arrogant, but she seems to care about her students. She moves quickly through the material and doesn't give good feedback on tests/quizzes. If you've taken calculus classes before, you'll be fine, but you will have to work very hard (and go see her after class) if this is the first time you're taking calculus.

Fantastic app calc teacher! I had to drop calculus with another teacher first semester but really understood calc with Ms. Ellithorpe. Lots of online homework but you can get unlimited tries so easy 100's overtime. Quizzes are hard but don't count much at all. Gives practice tests- almost identical to real tests. Best math teacher I've ever had!!

Prof Ellithorpe knows her math, but her teaching style is dry. expects you to be up to date on math terms. Don't recommend if it's been awhile since Trig. I've watched her reaction when students ask questions, she answers questions, but is not inviting. Weekly Friday quizzes (only 3-4 ?) and exams are difficult. Hmwk on MyMathLab every class.

this class was not a challenge for me however I studied a lot & went to every class. She gives short quizzes every week but they are in the same category as homework( easy 100's) so the quizzes even out if you bomb some. She gives examples of test ?'s, so your grade is truly up to how much u pay attention and practice. very easy to get an A

Practically gives you the test questions the day before the test in a class review session, they just have different numbers. She gives very clear notes and her style is to give examples of problems for each concept. Very relaxed and easy going but teaches a fast paced course.

Ellithorpe is an extremely nice lady! The only thing is that her appl calc class is near impossible for someone who has not taken calc before. Most people have low quiz grades, but it is only 5% of the grade. Tests are where it matters,and she loves to throw in surprises. Attendance is really only mandatory in the beginning before she stops caring.

Easy for precalc, bad for calc. She moves way too fast and gets impatient when too many questions are asked. If you don't have prior Calculus experience, take someone else. Tests are way harder than any hw/quiz you see, so know your stuff well.
