Debbie was awesome! I had her class once a week so it was a 3 hour lecture (which can be tough to sit through) but she made every lecture interesting and fun! She is very caring about her students and is a very understanding person. Id definitely take her classes again! One of my favourite professors!

I'm frustrated because she is a great professor, she goes through her lecture slides very quickly, runs over topics very quickly and she says some terms in class that aren't in the text book. And the final she crammed so much into the final that she didn't really cover at all in class. It's frustrating because why put it on if she didn't teach it??

Debbie was a wonderful teacher!! open to questions and very clear. She had simple Power point slides and explained them during class so attendance was important. Not many test but they were easy if you studied, and went to class. I always looked forward to her lectures, as they were always interesting and memorable. Great for high schoo student, me

I really enjoyed most of Debbies lectures. She tries really hard to make them memorable and fun! She really loves her job and she knows her stuff, even though I felt like she rushed trough the hard topics. She actually uses the textbook and if you miss a class or two, youll be able to catch up by reading the chapters.

Deb is a great prof though a lot of the time, I felt like being at class was unnecessary. She teaches off of very simple slides and our lectures always seemed to be on the more common sense of things as opposed to the theories and what not offered in the text. Overall though, pleasant class and would take again, just maybe not for a 3 hour course.

Definitely one of the best professors at VIU. You will do excellent if you simply just follow her guidelines. Her teaching method is clear and practical with no gray areas. The lectures are entertaining and the labs are fun. You (and her) will get a kick out of the reliability of the labs and experiments. Participate and you will have a good time.

For a first year PSYC class Deborah seems to expect students to memorize the entire textbook. She sends out review questions where 100 questions are masked as 25, and you're expected to memorize them all. I didn't feel like I actually learned anything, all I'm left with is a feeling of being stressed out and confused.

I've taken 3 classes with Debbie and would take many more. She has a dynamic teaching style, and engages her students. Incredibly friendly in the classroom and out. As long as you attend class and read the text you will do well on exams. She is approachable, relatable, and her high pitched voice keeps you alert...

Debbie is a wonderful, caring professor. She really made an impact on me during my time at viu. I have taken all her offered courses and really took alot from them. She's the kind of teacher you hate to disappoint. Lectures are engaging and tests are very straight forward. One of my favourites! I felt like she really cared for me as a student.

A great teacher who is passionate about psychology and knows her stuff. She is a hard marker though and compared to Chuck my psych mark with Deb was significantly lower than I had with Chuck. I liked how Deb actually uses the text book so I felt like I learned some material in her course.
